“STUNNING!”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Just had a wonderful talk by Seamus O'Brien, while strolling through these beautiful gardens! Well worth a visit. The plants, trees and water features, along with the history on the house makes you proud it's in Ireland. Ms Corona North has to be commended for her dedication to raising these gardens. She grew up in the house and only passed away in 1998. Do go and see this beautiful place and escape from the outside world for an hour and end up on the small coffee-shop, which has an ambiance of it's own! ENJOY! Everyone was so helpful, friendly and yet professional - thanks to all!

“Fabulous gardens well worth a visit”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

Very impressive gardens, full of colour. Lovely walks with plenty of benches scattered around to take in the scenery. River walk not suitable for buggies but other paths are fine. Kids loved their adventure. And it was all free!

“Afternoon stroll.”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

We were at a wedding on Friday and decided to go for a stroll in the gardens. We were not disappointed. It was a lovely way to spend the morning and it was free. We got some plants in their garden centre and left a very happy pair.

“Wonderfull day out”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We've just recently gotten into gardening and decided to go to Altamont gardens for a wander...wow! The walled garden and the formal beds are stunning!!! And the forest walk was lovely! Bring the walking shoes though..it was longer than we were expecting. The kids had a great time climbing on the trees and boulders and the ice-cream in the coffee shop at the end of the walk was the perfect way to end a great afternoon out! And when we asked the gardener there questions about the flowers he was really helpful and knowledgeable. Couldn't believe it was free admission! Fabulous!
