We had driven past this Taverna which sits back from the road about 100m. There seemed to be folks inside so we tried it. What a delight. We were greeted by Gabi and Theo who made us feel very welcome. The selection is both Cretan and German which is where Gabi is from. The taverna was busy and the staff were efficient and courteous. Theo was happy to show me the meat in the fridge and we went back for some veal fillet which was delicious. This made a wonderful change to have a nicely cooked fillet!!
There is plenty of space in the road outside for parking. This Taverna is an excellent alternative from the restaurants in the port of Chora Sfakia and it will take you about 20 to 25 minutes from the port by car to get there.
If I were to come back to Crete, I'd visit this Taverna again without question. Super hosts!
