“Awesome ocean view from a cosy well equipped house”
Reviewed 25 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

I've searched quite a long time, to find a house near to the ocean with a fantastic saeview, which is spacious, cosy and well equipped, like at home. And I was lucky, as "Salty Gables" is all that. Direct in front of the big green garden, sourrounded by a stonewall, the Atlantic Ocean starts. We often sat on the patio breathing the incredible fresh air and watching the sea and the clouds. And when the weather was not so good, we did the same from inside. Due to the big windows, the view from inside is nearly the same as from outside. Breakfast became so to an unforgettable impression.
The house was clean and in a good style, everything was working and we even had internet access and Sat TV. The neighbourhood was quiet and there is nearly no traffic close by.
The location is even quite good, near to Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Aaran Islands and to Galway in the north and Dingle in the south.
I would strongly recommend this accomodation.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. The house is perfectly located, quiet with amazing views from Lahinch beach all the way over to Spanish Point. You can walk (5 mins) to Liscannor main street and enjoy the local cuisine, would highly recommend a visit to Vaughans as the food is amazing. You are also a 10 minuet drive from Lahinch which has plenty of things to do including shops, pubs and restaurants. The house itself is very modern, comfortable and extremely well kept. You wont need to bring anything with you as it is literally a home away from home. We spent a lot of time in the house just relaxing, reading and enjoying the wonderful views. We will definitely be back!

“Great week in Ireland”
Reviewed 4 September 2012 for a stay in June 2012

A great house, well equipped and in good condition with great views across Liscannor Bay. The area is quite and peaceful. It is only a short walk into the main part of Liscannor where there is a whole row of friendly pubs to be enjoyed, a number of which served what appeared to be good food (we did not dine in these however as it was so pleasant dining in the house and looking out across the bay). The house was a great base for visiting the nearby Burren area which was full of fantastic wildflowers. The village of Doolin is only approximately 15 minutes drive away from which boat trips can be taken to the Aran Islands which I would highly recommend. The Cliffs of Moher are even closer by and are also well worth a visit, although can be quite busy. Attractions such as Bunratty Castle together with many other areas of historical interest and natural beauty are also relatively close at hand. The owner (Bert) was both friendly and helpful and turned up exactly on time to meet us both when we arrived and when we left. People should be aware that the immediately adjacent coast is a steep cliff (the garden is walled and signed to prevent any accidents however) therefore the sea cannot be accessed at this point but the great beaches at Lahinch are nearby. All in all we had a very good holiday helped by largely good weather despite awful weather over much of the UK at the time and I would very much recommend this property and would have given 4.5 out of 5 if this was possible..
