“Really enjoyed our stay”
Reviewed 24 February 2009

We really enjoyed our stay for four nights at the Plantation Beach Villas -- four adults and one child age 10. Well organized, everything worked as it should, and when it did not work as it should, was noticed by the hotel staff and then fixed promptly.

Pool bar served very good food at very reasonable prices during the day.

For TT$120, plus food, our maid prepared an excellent dinner which we really enjoyed, and had only to reheat it.

It has been unusually wet this year so the mosquiotes are certainly plentiful. PBV provides numerous mosquito repellents to keep the mosquitoes out of the house -- plug in devices, spray repellant, and mosquito coils.

There is onsite security in the afternoon and evenings.

A holiday where someone comes in every day to do your washing.
A wonderful exotic island with friendly and supportive people and fantastic food
A private villa holiday with the advantage of full service and support with tailoring your trips if wanted.
A private pool and bar
A stunning beach
Ability to take lovely walks around the area without feeling threatened or lost.
Fantastic welcome for young children who settled in from day one.
Lots to explore and very diverse island that is much bigger than you expect.
We all loved it - you should go as soon as possible.
We will definately go back. soon.

There are 6 secluded villas and they are ideal for a group of friends or family. Everything we needed was in the house and very clean and comfortable. A short walk to the beach or pool. A very relaxing and beautiful spot.

Plantation Beach Villa's are a little bit of heaven on earth. What an amazing place , from the friendly staff of Sean and Fiona, to our wonderful Chalet assitant Gillian to Deann who sells crafts down the road. What a stunning place. You are made to feel welcome and like a friend from day one ! We spent 5 days there as a family and just loved every minute. The beach was gorgeous , the sea amazing, the pool divine to cool off in! Ivan and his beach bar provided much entertainment and amazing Pina Colada's. The two leather back turtles that has a swim in the pool were amazing to see - we were sad we missed the turtles laying on the beach but is was just as fun to see the babies. Sunday School was divine for trying out all the local cuisine and listening to a steel drum band. Rum punch was good - Buccanneers down the way make one with a real kick !
Overall we loved the place and would go back in a heartbeat. Ah wish we were still there now. Even you are thinking about going this is definately the place to be - it gives you a touch of independence ( in cooking for yourself ) or as we did asking your chalet assistant to cook for you . Gillian's food was divine ! and you have sooooo much space . Thanks Plantation Villa's for making our stay awesome !

  • Liked — The VIEW ! and the amazing chalet staff who keep everyting spick and span !
  • Disliked — The hill to the front door !

Stayed here for a week with three other ladies and loved it. The villa was just perfect, airy, with spacious rooms and bathrooms, big verandas, ceiling fans over the main room and verandas, air-conditioning in the three double bedrooms, and good decor. The kitchen was well equipped, and Shirley our delightful maid, in addition to cleaning, would buy food and cook lunch for us when requested.

Out of season we had the place almost to ourselves. Across the road there is a pool and bar for the villas , and lunch and snacks can be ordered there. The beach is excellent and the sea safe.

The only reservations I have were the lack of security as the complex is not gated, and the need to cross a road to reach the pool and bar, but regardless I would certainly want to go again.

  • Liked — Everything - the villa itself and its gardens and views
  • Disliked — That you had to cross the road to the pool and beach

We spent a lovely week in Tobago at Plantation Beach Villas.

The Villas are large, comfortable, clean and well equipped.

The grounds were beautifully maintained on a daily basis as was the housekeeper service.

The swimming pool is in a lovely setting a 100 yard walk to an outstanding beach.

There was a little noise from the adjacent hotel but this finished early evening and was not a problem.

Security was not an issue, but the grounds were patrolled early evening through to the following morning.

Good location; restaurant within walking distance and food at the pool bar but a car is recommended.

Unless you have one of the first two villas you should be aware that there is a steep hill to climb when walking back from the pool.

We found the mosquitoes a real problem although the Villa was thoughtfully well equipped with plug in repellents for indoor and coils for outdoor use.

A thoroughly enjoyable holiday, would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed at the villas for a week in March for our wedding and had the most amazing time. Our party had 3 out of the 6 villas and everybody loved them. They are spacious, well equiped, very clean and the views over Stonehaven beach are simply stunning. Every day a villa attendant came in and did a great job of tidying, washing and cleaning and even prepared sumptuos meals (at an additional cost) on request. The Seahorse Inn is also an excellent restaurant that is within walking distance. The communal pool next to the Ocean is the perfect size, never over crowded, plenty of sun loungers and great for young children. They have a good bar and snack menu too during lunchtime hours. Stonehaven is a great beach for a stroll, quite rough so not the best for swimming and kids but still lovely. For a relaxing, stress free independant holiday, I would throughly recommend them.

As for the wedding, well what can I say, it was absolutely perfect. Suzanne, Sean and Fiona answered every single one of my questions and totally put me at ease - Suzanne organised everything from the Pastor (Brent - great guy) to the flowers, cake, food and table decorations and it was all wonderful. It is the most romantic setting imaginable for a small intimate wedding (we had our ceremony in the gardens under a flower adorned arbour which was just beautiful, with the sea as a backdrop then photos on the beach at sunset as well) and I cannot stress enough the great service provided. Ivan the barman was a real character and throughout the whole week and on the wedding day itself kept us entertained.

If you are thinking of getting married here - do it! Dont hesitate!

  • Liked — The 40ft teak verandah over looking the sea and pool
  • Disliked — The fact I had to come home
