The resort is wonderful, remarkable staff, rooms were very clean and refreshing. My biggest problem was the food, you knew cauliflower and pumpkin were in season and the chef only knew one way to prepare this dish. There were so much dried coconuts around, not to have a proper coconut bake, I got some fried bake one morning, when you broke the bake a pool of oil just nesting away inside the bake, they prepare saltfish every morning, they can take some and make fish cakes better known as accra. Out of my 3 nights stay I enjoyed the dinner one night and that was Friday night at the beach bar. Some of the staff needs to know the best way to direct you to other facilities on the compound, We were looking for the gym with another couple and it was a total disaster with the direction we got, the couple gave up but my husband and I were persistent, eventually we found it with the help of a workman on the compound and it was simple. Some of us likes to read the daily newspaper when having breakfast, at least have a couple in the lobby so the readers can be kept in tune with the world. Many thanks to Allison and the supervisor whose name I forgot for trying to make our meal time a happy one and kept that smile on their faces while we were complaining. I almost forgot we were told upon arrival a fruit plate will be in our room, but I believed they took the fruits to make the juice they gave us. They tried to apologized with a cake and champagne which was thoughtful, but a refund for the meals might of been better.

This hotel lived up to every expectation. The view was breathtaking, I enjoyed spending time relaxing poolside. Also the food was excellent. I would also give the room itself 5 out of 5 stars for decor and comfort.

The resort is due for a facelift and in fact this is scheduled and the plans were up in the foyer.
The rooms were clean, the staff friendly (thanks Samantha), the food tasty and the pool was great.
The sun-loungers need replacing as the UV has weakened the plastic but there were some nice reclining chairs that are newer.
The beach is quite small and not among the best that Tobago has to offer, the pool was so nice we didn't spend much time at the beach.
Ellis' tours are well worth considering, we went on the Jeep and Glass bottom boat tours.

The outside of this resort is misleading.

Whilst the grounds and layout are quite pretty and optimize the lovely view, I give our room a rating of poor overall. From the furnishings and decor of the room, it was obviously an older room but that was no excuse for the dusty smell as if it was never aired out or cleaned. Further, there were hairs on the bathroom floor which were certainly not ours since we had just arrived; my pillow had stains on it; it was possible to view only one or two stations as the tv connection was terrible and so there was not much to do on a weekend with inclement weather; there were lots of dead bugs and dust in our little balcony area containing the plunge pool; there were alot of dead bugs in the plunge pool itself and no net was provided to scoop them out if one wanted.

The only positives would be the size of the room, the lighting, and the size of the bathroom.

Not worth the money unless you're just looking for a place to sleep.

This was my second time staying at this hotel (1st time June 2009), and still an unbeatable experience. Staff always so friendly, rooms still always clean and mind blowing, great pool, great view, even better food :D Luxurious Spa, tennis court and gym, not to mention the beach just a stone throw away from the hotel. It is a truly magical place to stay! 5-STARS!

Really wanted to stay in Magdalena or Crown Pointe, but they were all booked up and I now see why. Room was nice but toilet got backed up after one use, and guy who fixed it really did not clean up mess after. We waited almost an hour to check in, trying to get currency changed took even longer. No attendant at service desk after 9 apparently so when we we walking on the beach at night and tried to get back in using key card, even rang night bell for about 25 minutes to no response. Had to walk all the way around for another 30 minutes up hills. Not to mention all the service people act totally clueless everytime you ask for the slightest thing.
