Owner description: The Oru Park and grand palace in the beautiful valley of the Puhajogi River was built by Grigori Jelissejev – one of the wealthiest men in 19th century Russia. In 1935, three industrialists bought the palace and park and presented it to President Pats for his summer residence. The palace was totally destroyed during the Second World War. Today you can walk in the well-marked and well-maintained park, look at various species of trees and shrubs, explore the Silver Spring Cave, as well as enoy the sea view and the sunset from the petrel nest. Interesting fact: the Oru Park Promenade organized annually in August has become a tradition.

“Best sports paths in Johvi area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

Last summer new walking / jogging paths were built. Now it is a good place for jogging or nordic walking. Deep slopes from sea level to 'upland' get your heart pumping. And so beautifil views to open sea and river gorge. Especially lovely place!

At the boat harbour there is a harbour inn and upp in the park a park cafe. But both are open only during summer.

“A quiet beautiful place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2014

Toila Oru Park is one of my favourite destinations in Estonia. It is far from big cities and is a very quiet place to go for a walk with a wonderfully fresh air. It is a wast peace of land where you can enjoy a walk in the park, explore the cave and admire beautiful sea views all at once which makes it a rather unique destination.

There is a shop nearby in the village where you can buy some food and a Toila Spa Hotel where you can go for a buffet lunch.

There are no dislikes in Toila for me. I enjoy everything there. It is a very simple place with very open and sincere people. Don't go if are looking for glamorous destinations.
