“Safe bet”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

Sunday lunch here was well prepared if a tad predictable - vitello tonnato, braised beef, the usual suspects. Wine list solid if a little predictable, service excellent all round. A safe bet for a low key Sunday lunch

“Consistently Very Good Piedmontese Experience!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Just outside of city center, we regularly eat lunch at this osteria and have never been disappointed. The menu changes seasonally and is well-executed; plus there are always excellent local wines to pair appropriately. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is familial. One eats very well here. We love this place!

“Excellent tradional local food - reinvented”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

This is a traditional type osteria, but the food they serve, while based on the local of the season, is prepared in a modern (re-invented) way with creativity.
The cook in the kitchen is the husband and the wife handles the customers.
All very amicable and friendly.
The environment is proper clean and open to light.
The bathroom is modern, stylish and clean.

Food: I had the following.
* Sfornato di zucchini novelli su concassee di pomodoro fresco
* Papardelle ai funghi Galinacci e pancetta croccante
The red wine from the house was locally made, good and tasty.

I normally don't eat vegetarian, but I must say that this menu gave me a new insight of what can be done with vegetables and pasta. Very Interesting.
I can recommend this place if you like local food from the season, prepared with mastery.
Prices are fine, and well in line with the quality. Q/P ratio is good.

“Higly recomended”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

I have visited this small restaurant probably about 20 times since it opened. It is great, very friendly people there. Excellent food.

The only drawback I that the read vine is served to warm - it is located in the restaurant itself, no cooling. OK at winter, not OK at summertime.

They give you a cooler for the read vine if you ask for it, highly recommended.

“Excellent meal!”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

Wonderful meal at the Bun Ben Bon!

Warm and friendly welcome by the owners, Daniela and Daniele.

Impeccable service, spotlessly clean.

Daniela is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about food and wines of the area.

As an antipasto, we started with the insalata russa (very typical Piedmont dish made with mixed, fresh veggies in a light mayonnaise dressing) and the steamed courgette 'sformato' with fresh tomatoes. Both were exceptionally good and just enough.

We then had the 'tagliata' (tender grilled steak served sliced) and it really was one of the best I have ever eaten. The meat was as tender as butter!

For dessert we shared a beautifully light strawberry pudding which was again, excellent.

Coffee was accompanied by tasty little sweets.

On the whole, we found the portions to be good to generous and we left pleasantly full.

We have had a house in the area of Nizza for going on 6 years now and in that time we haven't really come across many restaurants in the area which have prompted us to write a review.
We will definitely be going back!
