“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2013

We were told about this restaurant by our B&B hosts and weren't disappointed. If we hadn't known where to go we may never have found it as it is a little hidden from the road. The restaurant is located in a wine cellar and has a vast selection of local wines. Amazing food and wine and fantastic service Would definitely recommend!

“Need to try”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2012 via mobile

This place has a beautiful location, in fact is in an old cellar, very characteristic! The wine selection is great expecially since it is related to the Enoteca del Barbera just above. One can choose amongst the best wine producers of the area. The food is very typical. The only fish dish when I visited was the stoccafisso or dry cod, as it is custome in northern Italy. Vitello tomato was excellent, made with salsa all'antica (old school) was nice and pink in the middle, cooked perfectly. Battuta al coltello di fassone, local beef tartare was excellent... The beef came from one of the top butchers in the area, which often wins awards for his meat selection and quality. Other dishes that you can try are the "agnulot" with wild boar ragu', or typical plates like the rabbit roulade and others on that note. They have also a nice cheese and cold cut selection. For any suggestion ask of Cristiano, the "oste" of this place, he will recommend what to eat and drink, he's a top bloke. As a Piedmontese leaving abroad I always enjoy coming here when I go back home. This is a family run restaurant therefore if You expect fine dining presentation forget about it and don't complain! This is honest real authentic food, for people who understands the product and the land! If you are a tourist in the area and you want to try something simple, tasty, real and informal, this is the right place for you! Enjoy!

“If you want to taste local dishes..this is the place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2012

I have been several times here and I always enjoyed the very good food, mostly oriented on Piemondtese cousine.
Prices are good, wine list very long ( maybe too long) and the expert suggestions are not always the best
