Our third visit for lunch and we all agreed the best ever words fail to be able to describe the amazing taste bud sensations that the tasting menu and chef treats delivered. It was just amazing and in my absolute top five of the best restaurants in the world

We visited Vila Joya for the fist time this September for 3 nights and were not disappointed.
The place is so relaxing with breathtaking views and excellent facilities.
The breakfast is the best I've had in the Algarve and the lunch/ dinner at the 2 Michelin starred restaurant is nothing short of magnificent.
Worth the money but please don't book as we want to be able to go back and stay without it being booked out !

Vila Joya is truely a gem! The location is perfect. This hotel is run by highly professional staff and they know their stuff. The rooms are beautiful and the surroundings breath taking. Of course I have to mention the amazing cuisine of Dieter Koschina and his staff.

If you are looking for an amzing experience this is the right place to be.

We stayed at Vila Joya the end of May 2017 and would highly recommend. The service by the staff at the hotel was impeccable. The staff was very friendly whether it was during check-in, during breakfast, or having a cocktail before dinner. The manager of the dining was very helpful and we enjoyed chatting with him. We also ate dinner at the Michelin star restaurant and we greatly enjoyed the food, service, and beautiful view. The hotel is small and cozy which makes it a much more intimate, enjoyable experience!

We came for dinner on the back of a number of recommendations. 2 Michelin stars being an interesting driver for us.

The place is surprisingly nestled in a residential area, tucked away. On entry it is very nice a welcoming, as are the staff. The small bar area opens to a lounge area and then to the dining area and the open seas. The view is quite beautiful. Make sure you arrive in time for sunset.

Tables are nicely set with a number at the cliff:waters edge. These are generally reserved for hotel guests.

Staff are courteous and efficient and a nice touch is the white glove service.

Unfortunately the nice ambience was destroyed by a party boat stopping in front of the restaurant. So we endured loud music for 30 minutes or more before it moved away. Such a shame that this is allowed.

The food was a disappointment. Far too many 'surprises' before the tasting menu formally commenced. Be aware it is this menu only. Which in itself was ok but after some 8 or more surprises, we lost count, served rapidly you were needing a good long break before the main courses.

Nothing in the process was stand out and it felt like the chef was obliged to bombard you with invention that sadly lacked the tastes that one has expected.

The quail was the best dish by far but nothing else excited.

A great shame as this is a special place.
