My girlfriends and I found Nanuya Island resort on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed in the least! Nanuya is the place to be! After much anticipation and challenges, we finally made it to the island and had a glorious 5 night stay! The beach bures were lovely and comfortable and had insect nets which was such a relief! The outdoor shower was such a treat too. The staff are amazing and are so welcoming and friendly - we didn't want to ever leave! The chefs are brilliant and the meals were always superb! The resort is perfect to either do alot of relaxing or activities should you wish to - we were never short of things to occupy ourselves with. The nights were lit with flame torches and filled with great fijian music (whilst kava was shared)! The cocktail list is also delicious - there are plenty to keep you trying every night. All in all, it was a great trip with great people and food - top holiday spot. Love to everyone in Nanuya!

My husband and I have just returned from our second trip to NIR. We spent 7 nights there but it sure felt like a lot more. It is so relaxing.

We were lucky enough to once again get bure 11 which we feel has the best views. The walk up to the bure is a bit of a climb so may not be suitable for everyone.

A big thank you to the kitchen staff who consistently put out great food - the beef wrap at lunch being my favourite for FJ$18. The dinner menu is small but extremely good. I won't even mention the Banoffi Pie - just try it!

The snorkelling once again was excellent. You can even snorkel at low tide as there is a sand channel that you can walk or swim through.

As the other reports have said, this is a small, quiet resort with no children. You go there to relax and unwind - not to shop or party. And what a better way to relax than a massage with Linda.

Thanks to Lance, Remi, Joiji, Mere, Linda, Lewa and all the staff - not to mention Blade.

We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Vinaka.

Room Tip: Bures 1 to 4 are on the beachfront - 5 to 12 are on the path up the hill.

This is my second stay at this resort.

The resort was so laid-back. The food was superb. The view over the blue lagoon was fascinating and peaceful as last year. I really enjoyed “Fiji time” (go slow and relax). You would realize what “Fiji time” really means.

Even though the weather was not good during the stay, I enjoyed snorkeling, sometimes in the rain, and what surprised me was the recovering of the corals. When I stayed at the resort last year, I noticed the corals were damaged toward the area where the Blue Lagoon Cruise ship anchors. This year, I found they were recovering from the damage. The new growth was everywhere and it looked very promising for the complete recovery.

This year I ate lobster in one night and local crab in the other. They were fantastic! Indeed, both were provided in very modest prices! You should try them and would not be disappointed as well as the naughty banoffi pie!

It was a great pleasure to meet all the staffs again. I also enjoyed meeting with guests coming from all over the world.

I will definitely be back for the third time!

Room Tip: Tree Top Bures #11 and #12 enjoy nice sunset view over the lagoon.

If you are looking for a resort with no children and total peace and quiet in a tropical setting, this is the place for you. Very small (12 bures) resort with 4 deluxe bures, with their own large, covered porches and 8 treetops, that are on the side of a mountain, with terrific sunset views. There are numerous hammocks and loungers to relax and do nothing. Also, the dive shop staff are available, as well as George or Remi, for snorkeling, fishing, sight seeing trips at a nominal fee. The food is superb and the dining is individual with no set times, leaving you to decide when to eat. We are returning next year, which will be our 6th stay at this resort.

Room Tip: Wifi is available if you must use computer.

Amazing, quiet, tranquil and the food was out of this world. Takes a while to get there on the shuttle boat, but its worth the wait. great swimming beach. the treetop bures are super groovy with awesome views of the sunsets. we only stayed 2 nights, and could use at least 5 to truly relax. I'd go back in a second!

We heard great things about Nanuya Island Resort and especially the food... we called ahead on a Saturday night to make dinner reservations and were told that yachtie's were no longer welcome for a week or so because someone from a yacht harassed a guest.... but.... if we came back on Monday then the offending yacht should have moved on and all would be good again.

Somewhat surprised, but happy to go with the flow, we returned on Sunday evening and had a drink at the bar.... when we inquired about dinner, we were told no problem but we would have to book before 4pm and as it was already 5pm, we would need to return the following day. The next day met one of the couples staying there on their honeymoon and they reiterated the food was amazing and we should try and all have dinner together. We called at 2pm and were again told no Yachties...

Despite a conversation with the manager questioning how "yachtie" is a general term for a type of human being that is likely to sexually harass guests, we were still told no means no!

So enjoy this place, but don't mention you're yachtie!

Nanuya is the perfect couples escape for those wanting to stay in an undeveloped, natural, unspoilt part of the world. We had 4 spectacular nights in a tree top bure at Nanuya in May. The view from our bure was gorgeous and we could look out from our bed to see how windy it was or wasn't from our pillows.
The bure was small and comfortable. The only downside was the bed which while of a massive size was like 2 king singles put together and we both took turns feeling like we were falling into the gully. Not too bad though and considering neither of us are terribly tall it wasn't a big issue for us.

The food was the highlight of our eating in Fiji. The food was all amazingly fresh and tasty. Our favourite was the lobster that we had for lunch one day. We still talk about it now months later about how good it was. The bar is well priced with a good range of spirits available.

We had a wonderful time meeting other travellers. Most of the other travellers were from Europe with only 1 other couple from Australia. How nice and refreshing to meet travellers from other parts of the world that are well travelled. We had great evenings sitting around chatting with them.

The staff were another highlight here!! Alfie couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was pleasant. He took his time to get to know us both and give us advise on the best snorkelling spots. All of the staff were super friendly and happy and stopped for a chat. Our room was cleaned each day and fresh shampoo/conditioner and soap left daily.

I loved the bathroom. The stone walled and floored shower with the outdoor feel is just gorgeous.

We found some amazing spots out in the water and saw countless varieties of fish and coral. John had a barracuda encounter whilst out swimming in the channel and I had a shark encounter whilst snorkelling. We were both surprised and excited to have these experiences and really added to our trip! The walk around the island was great. We came across other snorkelling spots that were really remote on the 'ocean side' and whilst not as good as the lagoon snorkelling, it was still fun.

The eco nature of the resort is lovely. It is basic, clean and friendly with delicious food. What more could you ask for in a romantic escape?

At Nanuya the pace is so lovely and slow you cannot help but relax and reconnect with your partner and yourself. Great great place and cannot wait to go back there. It truly is worth the 5 hour trip on the Yasawa Flyer to reach this gem!!

Room Tip: Tree top bures are quiet. It is a walk up the garden path to get to them but they are really well lo...
