Peter and Louise, Thank you for opening up your home to both John and I. Our time with you definitely put the icing on our vacation, believe me we were in no hurry to leave Trinidad. Your love of the country and your amazing personalities made us feel very welcomed and right at home.

There were so many places we wanted to go in such a short space of time, but your vast knowledge helped us make our sightseeing choices perfect. We enjoyed our trips to the Temple of the Sea, Pt. Lisas, Lopinot Cocoa plantation, you pointing out various points of interest along the way and of course visiting with Thedore and his Hummingbirds. John loved the rum shop stops, learning local expressions, stopping and drinking Carib by the side of the road and being plied with rum and coke, you have definitely turned him into a true Trini and a friend for life. Thanks for being such a gracious host.

We ate all of our meals with Peter and Louise. Peter you are one lucky man that Louise can spoil you with her culinary abilites and us for the short time we spent with you. We were happy and very satsified after all our meals, including the picnic basket and out brown bagged breakfast while at the airport (Louise was up at 3am preparing breakfast on our day of departure). Louise, what wonderful hosptality you have shown us.

Our accommodation was very comfortable, beds and A/C was perfect. Hot water is available. We also had free use to the internet. Best of all, the view to the center of the island, garden, birds and ambience was very amazing. John and I enjoyed our vacation immensely but staying with you was at the top of our vacation highlights.

Peter, on a more serious note. Man, forget dis damn 3 months ting and make it permanent nah (lol). Peter and Louise, Well done!

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay in Trinidad than the Amazon Lodge. It is ideally located in the center of the north, near the rain forest, Caroni Swamp, and Maracas Beach, for example. Relaxing on the terraces overlooking a bird-filled tropical garden with a view of the valley was just the thing at the end of each day. Optional trips were guided by Peter, who is a gifted storyteller and has extensive knowledge of the customs, economy, and history of Trinidad. He has great suggestions for trips around the island. Louise cooks creative and delicious dinners using local ingredients and is an engaging hostess. We felt like we were staying with friends. The lodging price is quite reasonable, as are trip and meal fees. Peter and Louise went "above and beyond the call of duty."

I don't think I could ever rank a B&B higher than Amazon Lodge. I was traveling by myself and was merely spending a night in Trinidad on a layover. Not exactly the idea circumstances for a great stay. However, Peter and Louise are amazing hosts - personable, interested in people, and with that extraordinary joie de vivre that makes time in their presence thoroughly enjoyable. I loved everything about it - from the excellent welcome at the airport, the excellent conversations, the amazing Indian food for dinner, to the very delicious albeit rushed (for me, only for me) trip for doubles on the way back to the airport the next day. It was just great. The space is beautiful (accurately pictured in the photographs); it is close to the airport; rooms were clean and well appointed; and everything about the reservation process and stay itself was well organized. Peter and Louise were happy to chat but also happy to provide you with your own space if that was your thing. I hope I am not overstating things by saying I left Trinidad feeling that I had found new friends rather than simply a place to wait out a layover. Thanks again.

Thank you for your wonderful review. We have found that professional people like yourself really appreciate personal service over the impersonal feeling of being in a hotel room.
Plus we will always take our hat off to good people volunteering your time and expertise to help the less fortunate in the Caribbean. Thank you ... Peter & Louise

The Amazon Lodge was a great place to stay during our busy trip. Their garden is beautiful and peaceful. Sitting on the porch chatting with Peter and Louise over life experiences and enjoying the amazing view of the city was just what we needed to relax during this trip. It was like being home away from home. The rooms are very comfortable and provide all the commodities one needs when travelling. We certainly recommend it.

It was a pleasure to host such special guests, and we look forward to receiving you back at the Amazon Lodge! We are currently working on improving our seating on the porch to increase comfort levels, while we've also adjusted the bird feeders and are planning to erect an orchid shelter and display area in the garden to enhance your viewing pleasure.

Peter provided us with a very comprehensive, enlightening tour of Post of Spain and points south. As a former business and civic leader in POS for many years, his insight, experience and vast knowledge of the country provided us significant input into the economy, culture and history of Trinidad and Tobago. He is a most accomplished historian and tour guide - one I highly recommend for anyone visiting Trinidad and Tobago for business or pleasure. Additionally his Amazon Lodge B&B is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the rural setting of TT in comfort! We will be back to visit again.

Our stay with Peter and Louise at the Amazon Lodge has been a special experience. Peter and Louise are great hosts giving us the feeling we were special guests and made us feel ‘at home’.

The Lodge is a great place to relax and enjoy the colorful garden, the many different birds and the wide view.

Peter and Louise are not only friendly and fun people to be with but Louise is also a great cook and she surprised us many times with her delicious creative art of cooking and Peter is a great guide who showed us many beautiful and interesting places. Trinidad became alive trough his information and knowledge about this beautiful Island.

One week was much to short and for sure we will visit again.

We are indeed pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time with us! We have also benefited immensely from your input as to how to improve the roof over our guest patio. All overhead wooden beams have received a fresh coat of white paint, galvanized sheets have been secured to drain rainwater away from the seating area (very important, with our rainy season around the corner), and we have redirected the creepers and vines to overhead areas where they will not shed leaves on visitors. Being the tropics, the creepers are already sporting fresh leaves after receiving a proper trim!

Our stay at the Amazon Lodge was an absolute blast! The combination of Peter and Louise's humour, great energy, vast knowledge of Trinidad and the tranquillity of their beautiful, bird filled garden made our stay a memorable one. We left feeling rejuvenated as well as having learnt about the country and it's many cultures.
