We certainly had a pleasant week at Blue Waters Inn. The place is calm and relaxed, and provided some much needed heat and sunshine. In general we are pleased with the place and could imagine coming back sometime. That notwithstanding there were, however, some aspects that might be worth mentioning:

o This is a "three star" facility, do not expect five star performance.
o The location is pretty isolated. It is a fifteen minute brisk walk to the closest village, which provides only very minimal service at best.
o There was no telephone in the room, but they did provide a preprogrammed cell phone for emergency use.
o There is no fridge in the room.

- The WiFi was freee (good!), but worked intermittently and was relatively slow.
- Some of the staff could benefit from a customer relations course.
- I would rate the dinner as overpriced (there was no local competition).
- We did not got beach towels until the second day (probably a one-time slip-upp only).
- There was no mini-safe in the room, you had to deposit valuables centrally with the reception.

The general impression was still clearly positive, though, and some things worth mentioning here are:

+ The rooms were adequate and very clean.
+ The lunch, served in the bar/restaurant, was adequately priced.

Thank you for your detailed review on Tripadvisor, and very pleased that you had a pleasant week at Blue Waters Inn. We would love to welcome you back one day to enjoy some relaxation and Caribbean sunshine. The hotel is not a 5 star - and we certainly do not advertise it as such. We prefer to think along the lines of a tropical boutique hotel with good standards of accommodation, food and service. Prices are we believe in line with other Caribbean islands especially when considering almost all food and drink needs to come across via ferry from Trinidad. You should have had beach towels from day one. Please accept our apologies for this.

Once again we visited Blue Waters .....and again it was just so lovely.....peaceful in a tranquil setting. We were a party of 5..and we stayed for Christmas eve and Christmas day....we arrived early and our rooms were ready...
Loved our room on the first floor and to go to sleep listening to the sea was as magical as before..
and a chocolate Santa on Xmas day!
The food on Christmas eve was particularly delicious...
It was a great escape.....until next time !!!!!!

Arriving early at Blue waters we were told we had to wait for our room, we were happy as the surroundings were lovely and sitting by the pool with a drink seemed good. Although waiting for just over 2 and a half hours with nowhere to go and all of our luggage packed in the hot car became annoying. To then also be told that we had to check out, and then back in to a different room in the morning. The room was not ready for us the following morning, so had to pack all belongs and leave our luggage in reception for the morning. We arrived back at midday and were told our room was still not ready, it would be 15 minutes, and hour and half later, we were given keys.

The staff were friendly and keen to help out. the rooms were kept clean, and the ice buckets in our room was a nice touch, as we had no fridge.

The restaurant was good for breakfast with small cereal/toast buffet and cooked menu. The rest of the food was average, and very over priced.

The location was perfect, and opening bedroom doors pretty much onto the beach in the mornings was lovely. Very relaxing and friendly place.

Thank you for posting your review and we are pleased to hear you had a great stay here at Blue Waters Inn. A great feature of the rooms is opening those double doors and having the beach straight in front of you. Apologies for the hassles involved in moving rooms - not ideal and your patience is appreciated. Thank you again and hope we may see you on our shores again one day.

We spent a week here in November 2013. Blue Waters lives up to its name with the warm sea lapping at the door. The accommodation was comfortable with air con in the room. We had an upstairs room with small balcony but views of the sea were restricted by the trees, downstairs rooms would have had people walking past. The food was good and the staff helpful, especially the reception staff. Its a long way from anywhere and if we go again we will hire a car but for a first visit, with trips round the island and to the rain forest pre booked we were happy to spend time relaxing and enjoying the local flora and fauna. Humming birds flitted round the feeders and chacalacas and bananaquits came onto the balcony for crumbs. As bird watchers we enjoyed the trip to Little Tobago with Randy but would have been better wearing good trainers rather than trekking sandals as the paths were quite steep in places and slippery after the rain. The glass bottomed boat trip was fascinating and snorkelling from it easy and well organised.

Thank you very much for posting your review of your recent stay at Blue Waters Inn, Tobago. We very much appreciate hearing back from guests as this is the only way to know if we are providing what our guests want. It sounds as though you really enjoyed getting out and about to see the local flora and fauna plus the snorkelling in Batteaux Bay. We do hope that you will be back one day in the future.

Location is great.
Most of the staff are pleasant.
Room was ok but air conditioning remote control batteries were held in with masking tape and kept breaking contact.
We only had breakfast there which was nice. Dinner was expensive so we ate elsewhere.
Our holiday was spoilt on our second day when the window of our car was smashed in the hotel car park. We were disappointed with the response of hotel management as they would not accept any responsibility.

Thank you for your comments. Apologies for the TV remote - these seem to get broken or lost and getting replacements to Tobago is not easy. As for your broken car window the hotel management did investigate and liaise with you at the time. No answers could be ascertained and this incident is still a mystery to us. Under these circumstances the hotel cannot accept liability for something for which there are no clear answers. We take security seriously at the hotel and customer service for we are sorry this incident has affected your review of the hotel. If you choose to return to Tobago we would be pleased to welcome you back to Blue Waters Inn.

We stayed at the Blue Waters Inn in Speyside, Tobago for 3 nights. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay at Blue Waters again. It is a small modern and clean hotel in a great location and is very conducive to relaxation. This is a place for people who want to relax and enjoy nature and peace and quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Stacey and Alana on the front desk were very courteous and helpful as I organized our reservation on-line with them. Our taxi drivers from and to the airport, Norton and Andy, were very friendly and informative about many interesting aspects of Tobago. Sylester John of the Shipwreck Bar makes an excellent rum punch and Server Marlene Sandy shared many interesting and helpful tips about local cuisine with us. One of our favourite things about our stay at Blue Waters was being able to walk into the village of Speyside and enjoy excellent roti for lunch at Marlene's. We had lunch at Marlene's twice and enjoyed her delicious beef and chicken roti. The best we've had so far!

Room Tip: All rooms at Blue Waters are fabulous as they are all ocean side, what a wonderful surprise this was...

Spent 2 weeks at Blue Waters in November and would highly recommend this location for a relaxing break. We have delayed adding a review cos we wanted to keep it our little secret, this is a place we will definitely return to. Our third trip to Tobago but first to this hotel and after a shaky start on arrival due to there being no record of our booking, which was handled extremely well by the lovely receptionist, our holiday couldn't have been more perfect (except maybe for the Mosquitos but hey that's nature). Many of the staff have been there for a number of years and it shows, they know what guests want and do everything they can to ensure you have a good time and enjoy your stay. The food in the restaurant is excellent and Jason the head chef is always on hand and will do his best to accommodate special requests. The bar and restaurant are kept running smoothly by Avion, Pinky, Marlene, Erica & Co who never stop smiling while Kym, Oswyn & Sylves kept the beers and cocktails flowing. Although not a bird watcher, as a keen photographer there was plenty to interest me with gorgeous wildlife including humming birds, turtles and Pelicans to beautiful views across to a Little a Tobago. My husband a keen diver was also impressed with the diving seeing lots of soft corals, seahorses, and uncrowded dive sites as well as enjoying the banter with Joel, Kiki, Kerris & Co. We were very impressed with Jason the Operations Manager who although young was very knowledgable about the surroundings, and passionate about continuing improvement taking time out to talk with guests and gather opinion. A small friendly well run hotel where me met many lovely people guests and staff so glad we found this little gem
