“The best of Crete”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

For those that still think that greece does not produce good wines, think again! We were 4 days in Crete and went twice to Karavitakis Winery. The wines are absolutely incredible and the host (Nicolas) was amazing. The price of the wine tasting is very reasonable (3,5 Euros) and a much better vallue than the other winery that we tried in the area.

The only downside is that we could not purchase all of the wines we wanted to because we were leaving for Santorini the following day.

This winery beats many of the Italian and French wineries that I have visited.

Enjoy!

“Great Winery”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Great Winery visit with tasty wines and very nice location and guided tour! Nikos even helped us to organize a comfortable and cozy house in a village near the vinery!
Thanks for that!

“By far the best winery we've been to!”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

Nico and his family shows an utmost amazing attitude and love for wine making. The wines we tasted were some of the best I've ever had, and the hole party of 20+ persons from my family, ended up with buying a large amount of assorted wines, which were all close to perfect in taste.

I cannot imagine a better place to spend 2+ hours on Crete, than at this winery!

“Lovely family, lovely winery, lovely wine”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

If you go to only one winery on Crete, this should be the one! Niko and his family are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about making (good!) wine. We tried an interesting and delicious selection of wines made from both traditional and new grape varieties, in comfortable and charming surroundings. A perfect morning!
