Let's just say that if you skip this place on your trip is not at all a big loss.. We had some problems with a few locals, the area around Fort Ghazi not safe enough for tourists

My boyfriend really enjoyed this and got some great photos of the views from the top of the fort. A lot of things to look at like the marble ruins statues when you walk through the door. Only problem is the writing on the pictures explaining what happened is not in english.

I went here at the hottest part of the day when the temperature was 40c and appreciated the coolness if the interior. Lots if step to climb but fairly well preserved.

Photogenic fort, nice views. Good if you have small boys with you as they love all the things to climb on.

We visited here mainly because the museum we wanted to see was closed on a Friday (beware, Friday not the usual Monday seems to be the day cultural institutions close on Djerba.) We very much enjoyed walking the walls, looking out to the water and exploring the fort. I think it's a place children can get into. My one suggestion would be for explanatory panels in English as well as French and Arabic.
