“Mosaic Sanctuary - Idyllic Getaway ..”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

Our stay at the Milkwood Cottage 2 was short, sweet and serene. We found the staff smiling, helpful and very welcoming! The surrounds are a perfect getaway from the rat race of city life and definitely a place well worth returning too ... except for a day or two longer the next time :)

Dear Zahida

I am so happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for taking time to give us feedback and the great review. Mosaic is a very special place where one can get away from the rat race and just truly relax. Our staff is always prepared to go above a that you need more than 2 days to enjoy the property and all our nature based activities. After days of rain the long awaited sun has returned together with more whales.

Hope to see you soon, hopefully for a much longer stay

Mosaic was the perfect sanctuary for exploring and pampering. We felt so well cared for. The staff did everything within their power to please. Accommodations were superb and beautiful, dining was phenomenal, and experiences full of fun. Learning about Fynbos and riding on quads with Jacob was delightful. Amber did everything to make sure we were provided with all our needs. Truly, every detail was tended to. We miss Mosaic, its setting and gorgeous surroundings and would recommend a stay here for lavish acommodations, beautiful scenery, and sundowners at the beach, along with staff doing their best to make the experience so memorable.

We experienced the greatest joy on arriving at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge. After a long drive (finishing with a pot holed dirt road), we were astounded to arrive at this 'safari-sheik' lodge. The view over the lagoon to the patchwork mountain range in the back ground is spectacular. Five stylish, well appointed, safari style rooms ( we arrived on a wet winter afternoon and the pot belly had already made our room toasty warm!) are connected by a tree covered wooden boardwalk. The whole place has an outdoorsy, rustic, bush- luxury feel to it. Dinner was included and an absolutely superb experience by the open fire. Five courses which complimented each other to perfection and consisted of locally sourced produce were served with passion and flair. This is amongst the very best food we have had the pleasure to enjoy during our 4 weeks in Africa, a country of fine food and impeccable service!

Room Tip: Room number 4 has an amazing view of the lagoon however with only 5 rooms any one would fully satisf...

Thank you for staying at the Lagoon Lodge at Mosaic Private Sanctuary and letting us know you had a wonderful stay! Your comments are really so sweet and such a compliment that Jurie and Faith produced the best food you experienced in South Africa! They really are stars, along with our serving staff and those who grow our organic vegetables.
The pot holes can get tricky in winter - constant maintenance. But we are thrilled that the end of the road was well worth your journey.
We hope to see you again at Mosaic.
Kindest regards,
Kathryn

We are glad that you have enjoyed your stay at Mosaic. We are truly blessed with the mountain views and our lagoon frontage. The trip to the beach is special, and sunsets are amazing. Southern right whales have been seen interacting from this secluded beach recently by Mosaic guest and we hope that you will return soon, perhaps during the whale season

The stone cottage we stayed in was absolutely gorgeous. The meal (dinner & breakfast) baskets were top quality and delicious. The surroundings (lake, bush, mountains) were perfect for a tranquil 2 days away from the bustle. Busy Hermanus and quaint Stanford are just a stone's throw away.

Guys thanx for a wonderfull stay!! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The location of the duminy cottage is spectacular. We had 2 toddlers with us aged 4 and 2. Although the wheather was great over the weekend , but still cold , i would like to see more kids entertainment especially during winter times to keep them busy ( and give mom and dad a break). Maybe a television for indoor entertainment) Other than that the sights was amazing. We should have stayed longer than 2 nights though. We will come again. keep me posted on any specials. Thank you for taking the time to write and comment Roger. We love children and Mosaic is the perfect place for families with little ones. We offer various activities and games that will keep the little ones entertained whilst mom and dad can take a well-deserved break. We do have children and nature dvd’s that we can show at our 1892 Spookhuis on the cold and wet winter days. Mosaic is definitely a place where one can relax and enjoy nature, offering various nature based activities that you can explore, and I agree that 2 nights is too short. We look forward to welcome you back, please visit us on facebook.

We spent a night in June with our two children in Duminy House and particularly liked the 4x4 drive to the dunes for sundowners and waking up in such a fabulous spot, looking out over the lagoon. Try for more than a night, if you have it. It's a peaceful and special place, convenient to many other attractions (Hermanus, Gansbaai, hiking, kayaking).
