This was my first visit to South Africa and Green Gables is the most wonderful place I have ever stayed . The welcome from Jill and Tiger not forgetting Denzil and the excellent food was second to none. The cottage was full of beautiful furniture and artefacts . I would love to stay there again when I next come to South Africa.

If you get the chance do not miss the opportunity for a unique experience . I arrived as a guest and left as a friend.

Room Tip: They are all good so no need.

This has to be the most welcoming place in McGregor...I have stayed at Green Gables a number of times with family and friends....from the time one phones the guest house it becomes a matter of...how many sleeps Ma! Jill will just say Mamre(the cottage we are always allocated) will be ready.

This last night we happened to ask if any dinner would be served....in ten minutes we were informed that a braai evening will be arranged and how magnificent all the guests joined in...thank you Tiger and Jill your hospitality to just the best.

See you next month!

Room Tip: Do book or you could be disapointed!

My daughter and I spent an all too short time here last weekend. We needed a bit of R&R! Green Gables was just perfect. Tiger and Jill were so warm and welcoming, and the place has such a special feel to it. We had the most delicious dinner on Saturday night, and the next morning, we had one of the best breakfasts we have had for years! What a wonderful find - will definitely return for longer next time.

We had such a fantastic dinner here. The warm welcome and friendly family run hospitality was lovely. The food was excellent and the service was attentive and again super friendly! We would have loved to have stayed longer- will definitely be back when in Mcgregor again.

We have stayed here a few times and absolutely love the place. They cook dinner most nights and its tasty home style cooking, done by the owner. Check when you book as he does take a night off occasionally. Breakfast is amazing and beautifully presented on the patio, weather permitting.
Its close to town so we just walk down the road for lunch.
No TV or wifi, this is a place to totally relax.

Room Tip: There is a wonderful 'honeymoon' room that we love. Its away from the others and is a little larger that the other rooms.
