My husband a I wanted a break from town, and this was most definitely the perfect escape to peace and tranquility. From the secluded stone cottages with the most amazing views of nothingness, the romantic dinner, and very fun bar where the proprietors of had a couple (maybe more than just a couple) of drinks with us.

We'll definitely be back!!

Room Tip: We liked the cottages more that the rooms in the main house

We happened to be visiting at the same time as the previous "Lovely place to avoid" Swallows.

Lords Guest House is THE most amazing place to visit, even when having to share with the other Swallows moaning all through breakfast. Nothing appeared to be good enough for them and despite ALL staff trying their best to help they continued to complain, loudly and not particularly in a constructive manner.
We found the rooms and cottages wonderful, beautifully decorated clean and very well presented.
Agreed there are some bugs lurking, we had a Stick insect on our door for some time...but it is important to be able to recognise the difference between a Cricket and a Cockroach..!! This is a very remote part of SA and bugs are to be expected.
Maybe our fellow guests should stay in more city based accommodation. Our experience, each time we stay, has been fantastic, our disabled daughter treated like a Princess. Whenever we have friends visit we always make a point of introducing them to Lords Lodge, cannot recommend this place more highly.

Lovely situated guesthouse, could have been a fantastic experience! BUT, when complaining about cleaning of room (not cleaned at all) the very upset and aggressive manager asked us to leave!!! It was however to late in the eveing. The room was OK cleaned during our dinner and we wanted to rest. BUT in the bed, in the bath, in the sofa, in the toilet, in the shower, on the walls, everywhere, there were cockroaches, so instead we spent the night hunting. We love the animals of Africa but ot those small ones. And this was the very first time we met such an unfriendly person in this country for 12 years!

Valentine's was a special surprise for me. Booked in to stay the night at Lords. What a stunning menu! Beyond words. Beautiful room with a stunning view over the mountains. Great bed, double shower, really excellent. The staff, to die for, I am definitely going back.

Room Tip: Very small establishment and ALL the rooms have brilliant views.

We were a group of 4 and stayed here for only 1 night but had dinner on two occasions both great and washed down by the stunning Lords wines . A fabulous place to sit back and relax our stone cottage was spacious and extremely comfortable, unfortunately our weather was not great but that did not detract from our stay here in this beautiful guest lodge.
A huge thank you to Collin and Welhelm (probably both spelt incorrectly, sorry) you were both fantastic and we hope some day to be back to renew our friendship.

Room Tip: The cottages are great

A group of friends met up at Lords and had an amazing experience with Matt and Colin over New Year. Great setting, wonderful views and equally great hosts who just cant do enough for their guests. Wonderful spot to stay and unwind in the Robertson wine lands area of the Western Cape. Centrally located to use as a base to experience the area. Definitely going back soon

Room Tip: try and ask for a cottage
