Once again, Simon and Bronwen.. Thank You!!
Firstly, (and I know many people who have visited Cape Cottages will know exactly what I am talking about), *Thank-You* so much for spoiling us with all of those relaxing bath products- I have missed them; and upon return, was SO delighted to make use of them.

Ren decided to spoil me with a weekend away for my birthday. Upon our passing through Robertson town, my heart skipped a beat as I then knew that we were heading toward McGregor! I can't explain to you just how happy I was to return to this lovely town. And we weren't only returning to McGregor, but back to Sunbird Cottage, Cape Cottages once again as we did in 2011.

McGregor is such a tranquil and peaceful town.. Perfect for spending some time with the one you love!
The Sunbird Cottage (in which we stayed, again) just enhances that romantic feel. Bronwen and Simon have paid so much attention to detail, all the small touches add to the lasting impression!

The Sunbird Cottage is a stunning little self-catering Cottage, perfectly equipped with all the goodies you may need in the kitchen if you are eating in. Else, just have Bronwen or Simon explain where all the gorgeous restaurants are. Karoux is certainly at the Top of our list, with Ryan and Aimee doing what they love which is evident in the fantastic meals they serve! 5* to them.

If you're feeling adventurous, pop on your gown and walk on over to the outside shower for a refreshing start to your day! Romance- check X !!
If that is not quite your thing, the deep-set bath (with more than enough space for two)is great, especially for those unwinding evenings listening to the beauty of nature.

For winter, the Cottages have the most quaint fireplace.. cuddle up on the couch or keep warm wrapped around your baby-soft blankets.

If you wish to watch some tele, DSTV is provided.. (Happy to say this was not necessary for our stay)!

Take a drive out to one of the many wine farms in area, buy a bottle (or two :-) ) and sit back on the stoep to watch the sunset over the mountain.

We can't stop talking about the little town of McGregor to our friends.. and It's bitter-sweet to have returned to Cape Town.
But Ren and I can't wait to return to this wonderful cottage once more!!

3 of us visited McGregor to do the 3 day Ride2Nowhere mtb event in September. Simon was most accommodating during the whole booking process, promising us that we would not be disappointed with the quaint cottage. It's cosy and beautifully decorated. A super fireplace in the living area which we used every day warmed the cottage blissfully. There is a lovely stoep which overlooks a field and the views of the mountain beyond. A very tranquil setting which was welcome after our morning cycles. There was even a hosepipe for washing our bikes!
One of the two bedrooms is a mezzanine loft overlooking the living area, this may not suit everyone (couples) but was perfectly fine for us.
The village itself is delightful, and the surrounding wine farms are worth a visit. Tanagra has great wine AND make their own Grappa. Not to mention the pub in the Main Road, filled with locals and a friendly atmosphere. Simon booked dinner for us at Karoux on the Thursday evening - outstanding food, great service. We went back there for Saturday evening dinner as well...... The beautiful gardens at Temenos are also worth visiting. I would definitely go back to Willow cottage and McGregor. What a special and peaceful place. Especially for us hyped-up mountain bikers who need to relax. Thank you Simon for the wonderful stay we had at Willow! Kim, Glenda and Manfred

On the spur of the moment, we decided to take a break from the city over the long weekend. After hours of searching for available accommodation I found Cape Cottages in McGregor, and boy, am I glad I did! The Sunbird cottage was perfect. Equipped with everything that you could possibly need (we even discovered a few board games for those cold nights in front of the fire), a big bath, and al fresco showers. Simon was a great host and gave us a few tips on the restaurants in the area, and possible activities that we might enjoy. The only downside was that we only stayed for 4 nights and not 2 weeks!

I stayed in one of the smaller cottages - felt very private! Brilliant all round... well appointed with wonderful little touches all round. I can list all the positives, suffice to say I needed time out from Cape Town and it was perfect! Winter fireplace, with a TV if needed, charming bath, great bed and cute garded. Thank you!

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our littlest cottage, the romantc Sunbird Cottage which is perfect for singles and Honeymooners. McGregor is a great winter venue and our cottages all have open log firplaces and snuggly throws - so cosy, especially when there is a sprinkling of snow on the mountains.Thanx for taking the time to review Sunbird Cottage and we look forward to accommodating you again soon.
