“Wonderful experience”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

I stayed at Cape Cottages for my wedding and loved it to bits. The experience is one that I will never forget.

Bronwen was very helpful and all the cottages were fitted to our great satisfaction.

I look forward to returning here.

Room Tip: I found the Hoopoe cottage to be really nice.

Spent a couple of very relaxing days here, beautiful setting, great place to just unwind and relax!
Very comfortable and well equipped. Lots of heaters for when it gets chilly and nice warm blankets and throws.

What a wonderful few days we spent in this retreat....we had the most perfect weather on the weekend and could enjoy the picturesque garden full of pretty flowers and colourful birds....what a treat to sit outside with a cold glass of white wine and enjoy the tranquility.
I cannot wait to return...

My husband and I stayed in the Sunbird cottage after our hike between Greyton and Mc Gregor.
It was a truly wonderful experience. Bronwen and Simon have really put love into the décor of this cottage. Everything was tasteful done and no detail was overlooked. The wifi was excellent too. We loved the beautiful bath tub in which we relaxed for ages resting our weary bones. Stay here at the Cape Cottages, do the day hike to the waterfall and back and you would have had the very best of the best. We'll come again, that is for sure.

Thank you so much for the review, and for mentioning the Oaks Falls Hike which is very popular and enjoyed by many. Whilst many guests come to McGregor just to chill and enjoy the peace and quiet in such lovely surroundings and the quaint little village, there are also many things to do in and around McGregor. Glad you enjoyed your stay - and the romantic oval bath - see you next time.

We stayed in Willow Cottage for nine nights whist looking for property in the area and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! A beautiful cottage filled with character and very comfortable with a choice of a room in the loft area or on the ground floor with double doors opening to the garden (our choice, as was so nice to have tea in bed in the morning while enjoying the birds in the garden!). Bronwen has thought of everything and decorated the cottage beautifully - the little touches make it so pleasant. The flowers in the basin were a delight and the double shower was amazing - such a pleasure! Two fridges, a microwave, kettle, toaster and outside braai are absolutely all you need for your stay and suited us perfectly. Very well thought out accommodation and very tasteful - perfect for a couple although would also suit a family or even two couples. Sitting on the stoep in the evening, with a glass of wine, the peace and tranquillity of Mcgregor washes over you and you really don't want to be anywhere else! We certainly don't and will now be moving to Mcgregor in the very near future!

Room Tip: We loved the room on the ground floor with the opening doors to the garden

Great location, unbeatable hospitality, five star accommodation with loving detail. Situated in the village, walking distance to restaurants, etc. This really is a must visit. I remember on my previous visit, Simon asked whether we would mind if the gardener prunes the roses while we are there. This speaks for itself. I have a guesthouse myself, and I can only but learn from Simon and Bronwyn. Well done guys! See you soon again!

Room Tip: All the cottages are of equal, very high standard.
