“Badly cooked fish with slow, unfriently and inefficient service”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

We visited the place for lunch. We were the only customers, but as the place was "recommended" to us we stayed, ignoring the golden rule "an empty restaurant at lunch time is a bad restaurant". We waited for a while until a lady came out to take our order, not in helpful way by any standards. She told us that barbouni (red mullet) was fresh and we placed an order. She said that grilled sardines are, also good and ordered those as well. For starters salad, dips, etc - what you normally get in Greek restaurants. The red mullet was fried to the point of really becoming brown and dry, the sardines were grilled until becoming charcoal black. ..Probly this was the reason for being served to us with considerable delay. The salad and dips were ok - that is the reason for not classifying the place as terrible. The drinks were NOT really cold and ....I am still awaiting for second coke and second bottle of house wine.

“WE LOVED THIS PLACE”
Reviewed 7 July 2012

Following the old rule of eating where plenty of locals go, we were not disappointed. The owner is a lovely big guy and I asked him what "Nastas" meant and he said "It's me, my name!".

Location for those trying to find it is if you can find the Amalia Hotel (with Magic cars on the other side of the road) (carry on past the big supermarket and then look on the other side of the road) then carry on up to the top of that road (just before the T junction where the ring road is off to the right) and it is on your left under a load of trees - it is divided by a little lane off to the left and has a sort of open air annexe on the other side of the lane so even when it is busy, you can usually manage to find a table. We had chicken souvlaki, pork chop, usual Greek salad, courgette fritters, beetroot etc - all the usual traditional fare and it was all excellent as was the house wine. We paid approx 34 Euros for wine, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 soda water. (might have been a bit less) The service is good but not over-bearing. Would definitely recommend - by the way, I saw some French girls having whitebait and some other fish and they were raving about it being so good !

A very good moussaka and coq au vin and pleasant service with no pretensions.
