“Friendly run Hotel and Staff very Accomodating”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Friendly staff and animation team were really good fun .Restaurant and Bar staff very good ,Food was good but repeatable which is the same in almost all holiday resorts .One complaint is all inclusive bar closing at 10pm and then you had to buy your drinks also the drinks included in the package was not worth it only raki ouso and local brandy with beer and wine .All other spirits had to be bought and most cocktails.
Rooms very clean but basic beds hard a need for softer mattresses is a must .

The only and very small and picky complaint I have is for all inclusive guests the bar is only free till 10.00 and from then you have to buy your drinks. Apart from that the staff, food and rooms were excellent. If you spoke to any member of the staff they were always helpfull. cheerfull and always very busy and smiling. what more can I say - 10 out of 10

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the childrens pool area would be quiter.

We stayed at the all inclusive Dimitrios Village for 7 days at the end of May/early June. It is aptly named as it is a series of buildings with pathways and nice planting giving a village feel. The advantage of this hotel is that it has direct access to the beach from the sun terraces whereas other hotels towards Rethymnon are separated from the beach by a road. The hotel is within easy access by bus to Rethymnon and indeed our friends walked into town by the beach road. Reception can give you the bus timetable. There are shops and tavernas nearby.
The hotel has 2 outdoor and 1 indoor pool. No beach towels are provided. You have to pay for the sunbeds on the beach.
Our room, with terrace overlooking the quieter pool, was pleasant and functional with TV and air con. It had a kitchenette area with cooker, fridge, kettle - bring coffee / tea for that early morning cuppa. I assume the hotel was self catering at some stage. The bathroom is quite small with shower over bath. Liquid soap dispenser by sink. No other toiletries provided. The room was cleaned daily.
All meals are buffet style. The restaurant is large with additional indoor and outdoor terraces. All meals included hot and cold options and at lunch and dinner there were fish, meat, vegetables and pasta and lots of salads and Greek dishes available. We were satisfied with the quality of the food. All dishes had a card on the shelf above naming the dish so you knew what it was. What was handy was the self service taps in the restaurant for water, soft drinks, wine and beer - saved waiting time at the bar! Snacks were available mid morning and afternoon. The all inclusive at the bar was from 10.00 - 22.00. Some drinks were not included in all inclusive deal - the menu will identify them but as our preference was for beer and wine this was not a problem.
There is a spa, gym, billiards, video games all at extra charge. The table tennis is free. The animation team provided activities for children and also water polo and exercise activities for adults.
All the staff were very helpful and welcoming and were an asset to the hotel. Overall we had a very pleasant holiday - we have holidayed though out Greece over 16 years and were pleasantly surprised by the standards at this hotel.
I would recommend this hotel to families and couples.

Just came back from our stay at Dimitrios Village Beach restort. The staff reception could have been better. The food was ok, more room for improvement for the breakfast. The all inclusive bar was limited to local drinks so you had to pay for common drinks such as a rum & coke. Fitness center was extra. Children's animation was could have been better, more diverse. Paying for wifi is one issue, but the the beach lounger should be free (3 euros per day) The cleaning services were excellent, rooms always clean. No one was present at the reception when we checked out. We had to find the staff, manager on our own. The area of Rethymno is a great place to visit with good restaurants, taverns, boutiques & excursions. We would go back to this hotel if these points would be improved.

We really enjoyed our 10 day in this hotels with two small children. We can recommend it for families. Hotel is very well developed, with direct access to the beach, nice view from restaurant. 3 pools, one of them for children, one is indoor with lukewarm water. Access to Rethymno is very easy by bus - 10 minutes. Lokal supermarket is very close. We were lucky to get one of the best apartment with the see-view. Pay for the see-view, some rooms have poor locations and views. Staff was very kind. Furniture is not new, but rooms are ok and clean. They clean the rooms every day and they often clean the pools. Food is a little bit repetitive but very good. So why not excellent rating? You have to pay 30 euro per week(!) for lounger on the beach, but they dont really care about the beach - they leave sharp stones there (but it is not true, that you cannot move there without a shoes - beaches around Rethymno are nice.) You even have to pay for wifi 6 euro/day. If you complain, they try to deal with it. Yet, we would like to go back there.

So I went to Crete with my family, end of May 2013.
As the hotel is/was not so popular and almost empty luckily we were given a room number right when we got there. We had two rooms, each for two people. For each room we were given only one card, which was the first thing that confused us, The second one was their "All Inclusive" which was all inclusive at all. All you could get was a beer and wine (mixed with water) and some non alcoholic beverages. For everything else you had to pay. Also Metaxa was included, but for "original" one you had to pay, because for all inclusive they were pouring it from some different bottle which didn't look like the original bottle. After that we all felt really bad and sick.
The beach - terrible. There were big stones everywhere. As I've seen in another hotels (was walking along the beach) their staff was cleaning the stones permanently. Also had a hard time in water - stones again. Without "sea schoes" it's almost impossible. Also the beach seemed to be "wild". In other hotel beach had a life guard, flags etc. while this was completely unsecured - if something happens to you while swimming no one will ever find out...
Another terrible thing - staff was angry all the time, I don't think I've seen them smile a lot. They weren't helpful and while asking them for help they turned around and didn't answer my question
For the beach volleyball - everything was "prepared" but again there were big stones so it was impossible to play without a shoes. And playing in shoes on sand is not so comfortable either.
Food was terrible. Everyday the same and if you want to try Greek you have to go to Tavern nearby. Salads with peas and carrot, one kind of meet and fish (everyday the same kind just cooked differently). And what have left from Breakfast we had for Lunch and so on. Food was without any papers saying what were we eating - it'll be a secret forever then :) So I always took something not even knowing what I am going to eat.
Rooms - quite big, with kichen, broken TV (in both rooms), old bed and old furniture which had that smell of old things. Towels were changed every two days. Beach towel was not given - everyone had to have their own.

I hope everyone should think more before going to this hotel - this wasn't my first time in Greece and from my earlier experience I have to say that Greece has better hotels than this in the same price category.

We were the first time in this hotel. It was simply great! Pure relaxation!
Everything was right: food, staff, cleanliness -simply brilliant!
We felt very much at ease. Good value for money. All very friendly and hard-working,
Perfect location directly by the beach,
