Have just come back from a stay at the Pleiades and loved it. The hotel is in a perfect location with beautiful views over the harbour and with easy access to a wealth of tavernas, shops and transport links.
The food at the hotel is great and is also just over the road from Foodbar Helios (Andy's) which serves a more varied menu than any others we sampled on the island.
Just down the path from the hotel are various places to hire scooters which we did, giving us access to the whole island and was a lot of fun! It's also easy to get a good deal - we paid just under €50 for 7 days scooter hire.
The hotel reception has lots of good information on the island and if you ask Jolanda or Stefano they're willing to recommend their favourite places. One of these was Agios Dimitrios beach (about a 25 min scooter ride away) which was stunningly beautiful and quiet.
The staff at the hotel are very friendly as are the permanent residents who are always up for a chat over an ouzo (or three). They even appeared with cake on my birthday which was a nice touch!

The rooms are simple, but nice and clean. The breakfast is also simple, but fresh. The service is perfect :) George, Jolanda and Stefano are wonderful hosts :) And Akim, the chief, makes very good food. Especially good with meat (greeks usually overcooks meat). The island has lots of small, beautiful beaches. We often had them all by ourselves too :) A car or a scooter is recommended to get around. A quiet island, don`t go there if you want to party hard. (There is a small number of bars and restaurants, so there is some life) The old village is also wonderful, and what a view!! I would gladly go back there! :)

We have visited the island 3 times and if you enjoy a quieter island you will enjoy it here.George ,the owner of the hotel is extremely helpfull...his meals are fresh and always enjoyable, and reasonable priced ,as are the drinks. The rooms are simple ,they have basic cooking facilities, crockery, fridge etc.The best bit however is the views..we have spent many hours sunbathing on the veranda watching the boats arrive and depart just below the hotel. If you want to cool off ,the town beach is 5 minutes away(on foot). The beaches of Rousoum(walkable) and the port of Votsi are very close. The old village is well worth a visit (or several) especialy for the sunsets.,also the beach with the windmill(ask George for directions).make sure you visit the square,in the old village, where some local partisans were executed in WW2..(ONE ESCAPED)..the old church is also worth visiting. If you are fortunate to visit during a religious festival ie Panangia you will be in for a treat, with much eating, drinking and dancing..The buses are regular from the harbour in Patitiri to the old village and beyond ,but expect some long walks if you want to visit Chrisie Milia ,Meglias Mortias etc...maps are available as are cash machines etc.Alonnisos is the only Greek island in a marine reserve and there is an information centre at the harbour.Guided walks are available,as are boat trips around the island and around the neighbouring island of Skopelos where Mama Mia was filmed. There are many Brits and other nationalities living on the island but not many tourists.have fun..Rick and Helen,Somerset,UK

Room Tip: all rooms have sea views but some are slightly bigger..enjoy

The most positive point is the perfect view either from the room or the balcony where the breakfast was served and George's (the manager) kindness and willness to help...Great value for money!we 'll definitely return there, alonnisos became one of our favorite islands!!!

We have just returned from a week in Alonossos.Stayed in the Ilias appts which I would recommend for cleanliness and location. However we did eat in the Pleiades restaurant 3 times during our stay. Food excellent and prices no higher than anywhere else in town. Stunning views and great service. House wine fine. Menu a little different to whats on offer in the town. Local sausage very tasty and the lamb on the grill comes with tzaki (wrong spelling I know!!) and potatoes fried with oregano as well as lettuce and onion salad.

I would definately recommend this eating experience.
