How this hotel has got 4 stars is beyond me. Luckily we only prepaid 2 nights. As soon as we were show to our room, we tried to get a refund immediately. The room we were shown was tantamount to a shabby static caravan. THERE ARE NO BALCONIES IN ANY ROOMS!!! The " balcony" is the entrance steps to the "caravan". After being refused a refund, we were "upgraded" to a slightly smarter room by the pool at no extra cost. If the rooms were half the price and we had arrived with backpacks on, the experience may have been acceptable. However, we are not backpackers and were expecting a boutique resort, which it is definitely not!! My advice would be, DO NOT PAY UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN YOUR ROOM

i absolutely loved this hotel. moved here from the previous disaster which was Samui Beach Resort (see review) and from the off this was fantastic.

- reception staff are beyond helpful, they even went out of their way to find me a local yoga class
- rooms were clean & quiet
- hotel layout feels like you are in a mini jungle - gorgeous plants everywhere
- pool area was clean & right on the beach, more than sufficient sun loungers for everyone
- pool restaurant staff are lovely, i watched the sunrise every morning at 6am & they brought me coffee despite breakfast only opening at 7. (polla in particular was the most helpful member of staff)
- right on the beach!
- massages were fantastic
- free wifi
- pad thai on the menu as well as the mango and chicken salad - highly recommend

will most definitely be recommending this hotel to my friends.

Room Tip: stayed in room 301 which is close to the pool & beach & so quiet.

We randomly found this hotel down just of the main ring road whilst travelling around the island. We were looking for a peaceful lunch out of the hustle and bustle. The hotel restaurant provided an excellent fresh and flavoursome Thai meal with quality cocktails at a very reasonable price. We were welcome to use the pool and the beach access whilst there.

The hotel bathroom was spotless and staff very attentive and friendly.

lot of mosquitos due to funtains and basins of water everywhere around the hotel. Staff at the reception very kind but don't even think of speaking to the manager, an horrible guy, if you have any problem, he won't say even a word after that, you won't exist anymore for him! Unnecessary long walk around the bungalows to make the resort larger...... Water of swimming pool unsightly and turbid, in fact the pool is very small compared to the pictures of the hotel.... Nice beach with clear water. Insipid breakfast, hopefully a French bakery not far where you can eat French or Continental breakfast, excellent for 150 Baths! Fortunately not the first trip in Samui, so I'll be back soon, but absolutely not in this hotel!

Very warm welcome with surprising refreshement after a long trip.Nice bungalows, accomondation very charming, maybe a little too less store possibilities.Roomservice very good. The whole hotel area seemed to be always maintained and very tidy. Breakfast of very good quality, wide choice of fresh fruits and fresh made egg dishes. Restaurant very nice and romantic athmosphere, excellent quality of food, served from a very well trained, nice and warm staff, always accompanied with a smile. After having a noise problem with a toad we were offered to immedtiate change rooms. Hotel and beach area very calm and relaxing.Beach very tidy, a few stones in the water did not bother us.We like to thank the hotelmanager Sayan and his crew for making our holiday very special and unforgettable!

This is our second visit to Samui and to the Rummana and unfortunately we wish we had stayed somewhere else.

There is nothing wrong with the hotel, but it’s just not quite right.

It may tick the boxes to get it’s 4 stars but you don’t feel as though you are receiving a 4 star experience.

The rooms are tired and need a refurb – as do the bathrooms. The showers need to be swapped for thermostatic type.
TVs are old crt type and it would be nice if they were replaced with flat screen.
Aircon is noisy and never quite gets there...

The pool caused a number of minor cuts to our feet – not serious – but not nice. Pool is usually littered with leaves and was often over dosed with chemicals (quite strong smell).

Most of the staff are very polite (as everywhere in Thailand). Hotels garden is very calm and relaxing, with small waterfalls.

Despite our disappointment with hotel we had a nice time. We like the beach location (quiet) and the 15 minute walk to town is pleasant.

We wont return and we would suggest to friends that they stay somewhere else (next door looked nice....)

Room Tip: Close to the beach if possible. Another hotel perhaps?

All the resort employees are very kind and always ready to help. They were just awesome. The restaurant Is great as well as cocktails. Definitely a place to recommend. I didn't give it 5 stars because the beach is great but not awesome, the swimming pool would need some renovation and towels weren't always completely clean.
