“Perfectly good stay.”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was a last minute rushed booking, so we were unsure, but it turned out to be a really lovely hotel.

Our twin room was clean, tidy, spacious and comfortable. Had a big balcony (albeit overlooking the car park) and there was a safe, clean towels and TV.

The pool area was lovely, but with the beach just 5 mins away we spent most of the days down there.

The staff were helpful and polite - all in all a nice 3 day stay and somewhere I'd recommend for location and value for money.

Room Tip: I would suggest paying the extra for a garden/pool view room, as the noise from the main strip outsi...

My sisters and I went to Koh Samui for a 4day 3 night stay in March 2013 and selected this hotel based on the reviews it received. I was certainly not disappointed with the hotel, for many reasons but most importantly for its wonderful front desk staff. They are sincere and genuine in their warmth and hospitality. They are generous with information and can make good recommendations on food and other areas of interest. As for the room, it’s clean and cosy and meets your basic needs. The bathroom is also clean. Do get a room that faces the pool as it’s really nice – we took one on the ground floor which gives you direct access to the pool. The garden view rooms either face the car park or reception room. Do ask for the rooms on the new block if you want a newer room (although there is nothing wrong with those on the old wing). Breakfast is served daily but the items are minimal (approx 4 main items) but I must admit that the yogurt is delicious. The pool is a salt water pool and that was a nice surprise. You can walk to the beach thru the back gate and it will take you about 5 mins to get there. The walk is a pleasant walk thru a neighbouring hotel so it’s safe. The back gate closes at 10.00pm so be sure you get back before that. Going during the weekend is nice as the main road (which is just outside the hotel) hosts a night market which is about 10mins walk from the hotel. The location of this hotel is ideal as you have all the restaurants, shopping, and other amenities nearby. You won’t regret selecting this hotel. Just go with the expectations that it’s clean, people are friendly and you’ll get a decent breakfast to start your day.

From check in to check the staff remember who are & what room you are staying in. Rooms are very clean & comfortable. Noisey at night time from near by bars, across the road to night market & only two minute walk to beach. If are want to be close to nightlife this is the place to stay.

This hotel is situated in a fantastic location. Literally shops, bars, market, beach and much more are right on yoru door-step.
The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We weren't to pleased with our room on the first night and we were moved no problem at all.
Breakfast is adequate but the coffee could be a little better, sorry.
Ideal for seeing the real Thailand!

Room Tip: Try and get a pool view room

We stayed here for 8 nights and found it very good. The staff couldent do enough for you. Its only a 5 min walk to the beautiful beach. Nice pool within the grounds. The town in only 2 min in the other direction. Because this is near to the town at times you could hear the loud music from mthe bars even at 4 in the morning but its was not a majot problem.
Compared to other places we stayed at breakfast was a not that special and the coffee was almost undrinkable but I still like it here and would go back (If only)

Our stay at Am Samui was quite enjoyable. Rooms are quiet, a nice size and very clean; beds very firm as they are all over Thailand. All rooms have a balcony with seating and a rack to hang wet items. Staff very friendly - they recognized us each time we returned and had our key ready and waiting to pick up, helped us rent scooters and made a phone call to confirm our ferry reservations. A two minute walk to the beach, close to restaurants, shops, spas. We were upgraded to a pool view room but had to move to a garden view room when we extended our stay two nights. Garden view is actually parking lot view, but not horrible. Power went out twice (when it rained), but the generator came on within about 15 minutes so no problem. Breakfast was predictable - coffee is Nescafe, not brewed, so not so good. Lunch menu reasonably priced and convenient when sitting by the pool. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Choose a pool view room if you can.

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel. Lamai beach is just a 5 minutes walk away, but mind you, there are no sea-view rooms (view is blocked by Lamai99 Inn). Night Bazaar is right in front of the hotel and there are many bars & restaurants within walking distance. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and helped us in renting a jeep too (even though the price was 100 Baht more expensive than originally promised). Breakfast was average; nothing too bad or good about it. All in all, we were happy with what we got and might consider staying in this hotel again during our next visits to Samui.
