Green Villa
Reviewed 10 August 2013 via mobile

I came to Green Villa after leaving The Cottage@Samui early.
The 50 baht more for a fan bungalow was well worth paying. While the bungalow is simple it does 'what it says on the tin'.
It was clean and tidy and well looked after.
The pool is well cared for and the surrounding gardens are pretty.
The staff were friendly and tried hard to help you and make you feel welcome.
You can see that they put a lot of love into Green Villas.
I would definitely stay here again.
*it would have been good to have the facility to book online.

The whole time we spent on Ko Samui we stayed in a Hut at the Green Villa and we loved it. The Beach is just a 2 min walk and it's not the crowded area where the most tourists are staying. So if you like to walk to the town it will take you about 30 min, but you can also take a taxi for a few THB.

The property is very quiet and nicely cleaned. There is a small restaurant which is also the reception which serves delicious fresh made meals and breakfast. If they run out of Bananas for your pancake they will just hop on their scooter and get some in on of the street-markets.

The room was huge and had an indoor and outdoor (hot) shower (cold) and was very clean.

If you need anything just ask at the reception they can arrange almost everything, from tours to scooters.

We definitely will come back.

BTW: Wifi available and free of charge!

We moved here from the neighbouring Cottage Resort where the welcome was non-existent. What a contrast! Delightful, well cared for properties. Lovely wee swimming pool. Great food at great prices in restaurant. Above all smiling, welcoming staff!!!!

Fortunately, I saw this guesthouse, after a long, tiring day- the girl in the reception was the nicest Thai girl I've met. That was a good start. They have backpackers rooms- strarting 300 baht, 400 for a hot shower. You even have a tiny pool in the yard. The beach is 2 minutes walk- but it's no the central one. The city is quite far from here- a drive of a few minutes. Come here if you plan to hire bike, or if you want a quite place, and don't mind taking taxis. One problem: ants. They are everywhere. I just feel as if the room is not clean, but they do change the sheets. You have some on the bed also. Yeah, it's unpleasant, but after you get rid of the few on the bed, you don't mind. I like this place anyway, 'cos they are so nice and helpful. So, come if you want awesome cheap rooms, and don't mind to have some ants and a motorbike.

After staying in a few other hut resorts in Lamai and wandering the beach to seek other accommodation we came across Green Villa! It is well priced and has the most beautiful garden setting with swimming pool to cool down in. The huts themselves are really cute (ours was pink) compact, clean and had a really effective fan!
The staff are really friendly and it is the kind of place you dont want to leave!
It is about 50metres from the beach, next to a few bars and restaurants. It is located at the quieter end of Lamai beach (near the rude rock formation) but is only a ten minute beach walk from the hustle and bustle of the town centre which has an infinite amount of places to eat and drink.
The restaurant is OK, the menu is a bit lacking, but that doesnt matter too much as there is plenty of choice nearby.

We arrived on Samui in mid-December having tentatively booked into The Cottage@Samui for a fan room with cold water for 550thb. However, we read a poor review the day before so thought it best to look at other options on arrival.

We firstly looked at Amity Bungalows, where we were offered a tatty fan bungalow near a building site for 350thb, and then found Green Villa. We loved the look of the well kept garden and immediately noticed the very welcoming pool, which the other resorts didn't have.

We were offered a fan bungalow with cold water for 350thb or one with hot water for 450thb. We looked at both and went for the hot water because we fancied a treat and the bungalow was also much bigger.

The bungalows are not new (apart from some expensive looking aircon villas), but they are well kept with fresh paint and daily cleaning. Each has a balcony facing the garden/pool, and we spent many evenings sat on ours.

The beach is a two minute walk away, but we spent most of our days at the pool, which we had almost exclusively to ourselves for our stay! There are not many bungalows here, which makes it a really homely and relaxing place to stay.

If you want to visit Lamai town (which is an odd place!), it's just a 10 minute walk. However there's a 7/11, restaurants and massage places just 30 seconds up the road.

The staff are friendly and seem to all be happy, which we haven't seen everywhere. The food we tried was good and reasonably priced, especially the breakfasts.

When we were there the free WiFi access was extended to the whole resort, which is great.

The only negative we would mention is that the reception/restaurant closes at 8. There were a couple of nights we fancied some food a little later.

We extended our stay from three nights to six because we enjoyed Green Villa so much. We are a couple backpacking, but we would definitely stay here again if we had the opportunity.

My boyfriend and I booked 2 nights initially at Green Villa as we have had some bad experiences during our travels and tend not to book more than 1 or 2 nights before we know if we like a place or not. We ended up staying 5 nights and would stay longer if we didn't have a flight to Bali booked already!
This place is so great! What really makes it is the staff, they are very sweet and helpful. We rented a motor bike from them and while we were riding we got a flat tire, we had to walk 45 minutes in the heat to a repair shop and they fixed it for 150 baht. Not a bad price but I was still bummed. I signed a contract that pretty much said we are liable to pay for such things, but they apologized about that happening to us and payed me back the money to replace the tube. We also noticed a lot of bees around and discovered they were building a nest on the side of our cabin. The ladies at reception offered for us to move to another bungalow, but that they would have it removed first thing in the morning when the gardener comes.
We are staying in the bungalows which are 300 baht per night, they have a small porch, a big comfortable bed, fan and a good sized bathroom. All we need! If you must have a huge fancy room, don't go for these bungalows. But if your like us you will love it. They come in daily while we're out at the beach as to not disturb us, and they change the sheets, give us new towels, toilet paper, take out the trash, sweep and clean the bathroom. The bungalows are a little close together, about 15ft apart, but we have had neighbors on both sides and no complaints.
The food at their cafe is great and very reasonably priced. The bungalows are just 30 second walk down to the Lamai beach entrance. The beach is clean with clear warm water and not too many people, at least in the low season. They also have a decent sized pool with lounge chairs as well as a hangout area with a tv and lots of guide books. The rooms may not have tv's, but that is just fine because we get perfect wifi reception and can watch shows online. The place is a 10 minute walk into the main town area of Lamai with lively night life and tons of restaurants, bars and clothing/souvenir shops, but far enough away for it to be nice and quiet at night!

Lastly, you can book any trips you want here, get a massage, your laundry done and rent a motor bike plus more I'm sure!
