just got back from spending 5 days here. my wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay here even if she did lose the key 1st night ,we were more worried than steve.the place itself has been desinged and built by steve and local builders and has been done to a high spec. we chose the top appartment which was very spacious with its own private balcony and very modern fixtures and fittings.as with other reviewers steve is very attentive and took me for a drive around the town showing me the shortcuts to the beach and main centre and he would always invite you along if he and his lovely family were going out for the day equally if you just wanted to chill you could. had a pleasent evening with him and some of the other guests at the boxing for my 50th. i would wholeheartedly recommend these appartments

Stayed here for four weeks March/April. The room was very good (the apartment) and Steve's hospitality was as good as ever. Nice to be away from the beach hustle but easily reachable with his help.
Any problem Steve dealt with immediately
Having Tesco nearby was very handy and is a good tip for lunch withThai (or Western) food at more than reasonable prices in an air conditioned cafeteria. also with Steve's help we were able to see the best of the local entertainment (and some of the worst) but it was fun.
Would endorse an earlier comment that the market food was well worth a try,

Room Tip: The spacious apartment was worth the extra

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and wished it could have been thirty. The executive room overlooking the pool was large and had all the facilities we required it was clean and big enough to accommodate a settee and armchair. Bedding and towels were changed daily we could not fault the attention to detail both for service and accommodation. We considered for the money this place was exceptional value and Steve (the owner) provided an exceptional service.
It is in a very quiet location and it took us about 25 minutes to walk back from the main town but it was through interesting areas and was not a problem but Steve provided transport down to the town for us in the morning and evening and was a fantastic host. We are staying three months on Koh Phangan and wished it had been Koh Samui where the choice of restaurants, bars and entertainment far exceed anything we have experienced on Koh Phangan.
I have read a review where the person could not understand the excellent reviews I think that says more about that person than the accommodation and servie we found the whole experience exceptional for the money and we have travelled the world.

We stayed in this place for 4 nights in the deluxe room attached to the owner's home. We like how quiet it is, and we could enjoy the independency little away from the main Lamai street and beach. Steve is an good host who's extremely helpful during our stay. Our room is cleaned everyday with fresh towel. We were looking for a more affordable place on this trip, and luckily we've found this welcoming guesthouse to stay with definitely worth the value.

My wife found this place on the net through Tripadvisor and we checked into this place on the afternoon of the 4th of March. Steve picked us up in his car from a petrol station down the road. My first impression was Steve (the owner) is a lovely host who cares for his guests which means a lot when staying as a guest. The room we stayed in was attached to his house and despite that, the our privacy was not compromised. It has a little pool for relaxing. The room is clean, airy and the housekeeping is amazing. The sheets are changed, the bed is made, the room is clean, the towels are changed everyday.
Steve is a lovely host and very helpful when one wants to move around on the island. The service is professional and has the personal touch which is a boon to travelers who want a homelike atmosphere. Location wise, it is close to Lamai beach and is away from the touristic hot spots making it private and relaxing after a good day in the sun.
The price for the room is very affordable and does not pinch the pockets in anyway. The price, the ambience and the amenities provided makes the holiday makers really enjoy their stay on the island.
I would suggest this place to medium budget travelers who would like their privacy and independence.

Where to start? We booked this as part of a 4 week trip to Phuket and Koh Samui purely because of the excellent reviews this has. We stayed for 4 nights in February. Our overall accommodation in Thailand consisted of a mixture of budget and luxury. The price we paid for this was on a par with one in Patong and one in Phuket Town, both of which we have given excellent reviews, so price is not the issue. I e mailed Steve to see if he could provide the airport transfer and he said he would. After waiting for an hour at the airport I found his telephone number and rang him to be told that his wife had gone away and he was busy so could not pick us up. He did, however, give us a free transfer to our next hotel on the island so that was good of him. We had a deluxe room but quite frankly it was not what I would call deluxe. Yes, it was bigger than the other rooms but quite dirty i.e. the shower curtain was filthy, the curtains did not meet in the middle and were hanging down off the rail. In addition the owner's 2 dogs were free to wander in and lay down whenever our door was open. This in itself was not a problem as we have a dog ourselves but the dogs in question had a considerable amount of tics and fleas which you could see quite clearly. Also, one of the dogs took to sitting in the swimming pool when it was hot. I can say that Steve was very accommodating in offering lifts to the town and the beach but if your prefer a hotel with a little anonymity this would not be for you. If you want somewhere cheap then it is good value for money.
