We spent 4 days here in Samui with my partner after our Phuket stay, and to be honest we made the right decision for choosing Zara. If you want to relax it is the place to be!

Its perfect for couples for its genuine tranquility, peace, romantic setting and a private beach front too. Its like a honeymoon. Far away from the busy noise of the streets but everything is a walk away from everything you need. They only got 12 villas therefore you can expect privacy on your own and were luckily enough to have the most private villa to the end of the resort (villa 11).

The room was spacious, the design was fabulous, we liked the idea of the small pool 5 steps away from our room, sun bed was convenient for star gazing at night. Breakfast could be improved. staffs were so polite and helpful. How incredible check-in and check-out was just a blink of an eye.

Amazing as it is! It was a fantastic stay and wanting to be back any point soon.!

Room Tip: If you're couple, ask for a more private room (villa 11). away from everything including the riv...

Myself, husband and 5 year old son stayed at the Zara Beach a few weeks ago and really enjoyed our stay our villa was stunning and located near to the pool and had views of the beach, the staff were ever so friendly, the restaurant was lovely and the food was amazing! Especially the pad thai.
The night market is held every Sunday night and is right out the front of the hotel, the market is the best one we went to whilst we were in Thailand fantastic, if you want to eat out you can walk along the beach there are lots of restaurants and also further down every Monday there is a fire show which was again the best we have seen,
We will most defiantly return to The Zara Beach thank you so much for our amazing stay

As soon as I made a reservation and spoke to Mr. Ball I knew I was in good hands. When we arrived from the airport ,Mr. Ball was there at check in time as we requested an early check in. He was very kind, courteous, respectful and also helped recovering our bags(as we don't speak Thai), which came on a later flight!
The room was a great size , comfortable and compared to a 5 star resort. The private pool was well maintained as was the room. The big pool was well designed and not as big as I expected it to be (but it allowed me to swip laps). They also had a bar by the poolside. The view of the beach from the pool was wonderful and the music they played at the bar was modern. The beach chairs by the restaurant were comfortable and free for residents of Zara. The basic breakfast was of a great quality with various options- American, Continental, Healthy and also a few Thai options. Last but not the least, the location was ideal as there were lots of restaurants within walking distance.

I whole heartedly recommend this resort to beach lovers!!!

Room Tip: Rooms 11 and 12 are nice.

We stayed at Zara for the first leg of our honeymoon during its soft opening. I am sure there are more facilities available to guests now, but even without an onsite restaurant at the time, we really did have a fabulous stay. The pool looks directly over the beach, and the deck area and covered pool house was just beautiful. The staff took great care of us, and made us some fabulous cocktails poolside. Because there was no onsite eatery, we were given breakfast vouchers for a quaint little cafe next door, on the beach, and we were very very happy with the food and service there. The Pavillion is right next door too, and we often had dinner there. Just magnificent - a real highlight of our trip. With Zara being at completely the 'end' of the beach (the quiet end, thankfully) we were able to grab a beach chair and just relax, or walk up the beach to where the action was. It really was great to be able to get back to our end if the beach for some quiet time.
Our room was gorgeous, we actually used our plunge pool quite a bit. I really thought the rooms were furnished beautifully, and loved escaping the sun for a bit by lounging on the large couch and having drink.
All in all, our stay was amazing and we always say we would love to go back. Highly recommend, especially for honeymooners.

My husband and I stayed at the zara beach resort for 10 days and overall had a great and relaxing time! As some other people have reported, the river behind the resort can get a little smelly but nothing that overly put us off.. It was a quite little place and although the staff weren't great with their English, they were very polite and helpful. Some of the highlights was the lamai night market very Sunday was right out the front and we both enjoyed our private plunge pool!

Found this resort by chance, literally walked up to it from the beach. The resort is small, quiet and very modern. Each of the bungalows are finished well and the staff are very helpful. Great value for what is on offer.

Just off the main Lamai walking street, this resort offers a break from the noise of Lamai. The resort main pool is fantastic.

Was in Samui for several days and really liked my stay at this resort. it had been years since I last visited the island. I made it a point to have a look at the other resorts as well for future reference. There are many to choose from but Zara stood out for me because of its location in Lamai. Lamai is not as built up as Chaweng but had all the things (bars etc) I needed just a stroll away. It's also just a 10 minute drive to Chaweng.

I expected a busy (and noisy) resort because of its location but was really pleasantly surprised to find that it was the exact opposite. The entrance is a modest one on a fairly busy side street leading to the beach. Stepping through it was like stepping into a completely different world as there is an abundance of greenery, buildings that are elegant yet simple and tasteful little sculptures and figurines subtly adding to the ambience.

The villas are almost hidden within a beautiful oasis of plants and trees with small paths meandering between them. Each villa had a small compound and most, if not all, had their own private pool. The buildings are very contemporary with lots of wood and glass panels and windows (with curtains for privacy). The decor in the villas were nicely minimal but not bare. There was a nice 'lofty' feel to the rooms and it was almost tempting to just spend our entire holiday in the villa.

The staff were friendly and helpful and price-wise, we felt it was really good value for money. It isn't the cheapest place you can find on Samui but for many of the other higher end resorts, you could pay similar prices (if not more) and get a very corporate-styled standard room that is nice but lacking in personality and charm.
