Avoid at all costs! There are so many better hotels in the area and even the locals rate this hotel as an embarrassment to Lamui. I had the misfortune of making a reservation for 4 nights at this establishment but stayed less than 1 hour. Made to pre-pay and then when you complain your called a liar and the management refuse to accept any responsibility, to the point where they give you misinformation and then continue to hide behind policy rather than service levels.

Firstly your frog marched to a prison block opposite the main complex. No lights in the hallway an even though its 2pm your groping your wall to a room. Noticed that smell yet? One of human decay and getting stronger with each step forward. Your then met with a room with uncleaned sheets, a bed which has come from a brothel, scum all around the shower head, human hair littering the bath rims and as a special welcome human poo still floating in the toilet.

When you go back to ask for them to clean the room or create a constructive complaint your met with hard luck, get stuffed for a refund, not our problem and leave the premises if you don't like it. No desire to provide a service. And just to top it off, a SPA??? Wheres the SPA? Is it behind those 2 giant speakers they've rigged up on the beach blasting 200 decibels of americanised pop music at you? Where is the relaxation in that?

Please do not book this venue. The only way they will improve service is if they start to listen to the customer rather than take your money and show you the door.

Room Tip: Do not book this resort. Seek alternative.

The hotel itself has soooo much potential. It has a nice pool area, spa area, restaurant and is beach side. Sadly the customer service is bad(not in the restaurant though. It is the only place you get service.)

The rooms are OK, but dirty. Maids are smiling, but has no training in cleaniness and has to much to do? We daily had to ask for missing clean towels, and some days they had not any to give us.... The mirrors were as dirty as they can be. Bed comfortable, but they did not change sheet often enough, they just changed the bed sheet upside down after a week!!! The shower was flooding the bathroom over, and had dirty tiles everywhere.

Breakfast had not much to select from. Ridiculous. But it was an egg station and some fruit...

A shame to few sun loungers. The few around the pool were occupied with towels early in the mornings.

WIFI is EXPENSIVE and worked bad.

Reception staff were not very service minded. T.ex. we had to move to another room because we booked some extra nights. And it was plenty of free rooms available. WTF?

I will never go back.

I ddinA't stay here but had lunch in the restaurant after a long beach walk.

Staff were very attentive, and the location is very good - great view in the mindset of Lamai, but didn't feel crowded at all.

The lunch itself was fairly pricey but decent. I had the special - roast duck salad with rice which is very highly recommended. The alcohol was exceptionally expensive (120 THB for a small Chang beer!) so maybe not the best option for a boozy lunch.

Overall, would definitely return and hopefully have the duck again!

We stayed in this hotel during our vacation in Koh Samui, 19Feb-01Mar 2011.
Overall this was a fair 3* -feel-like hotel conveniently located in Lamai Beach of Koh Samui.

THe hotel offers direct access to beach, the area is well-planned with very nice pool in the centre of the yard surrounded by buildings. The hotel was not much crowded, which was good as one shall hate queueing for a cup of coffee in a morning. Backside of the hotel looks directly to the road with plenty of shops, drugstores, restaurants and tuc-tuc's (cheap public transport) running around every 5 minutes.

We took the cheapest room, so there was nothing special to expect. The room was though equipped with aircon (rather old and noisy, so that we switched it off for night), TV, fridge and clean restroom/shower. Everyday they cleaned the room, put drinking water and new towels.

Even though there was wi-fi available for guests the cost was 10 time higher then in the next-door internet shop which one can find everywhere around.

Liked most:
- location
- swimming pool
- friendly stuff

Liked least:
- room
- breakfast food
- wi-fi cost

Looking for a place on the beach with a pool to relax for a few days we booked a Deluxe Superior room through an agent in Bangkok after rejecting a few other suggestions (thank you Trip Advisor!).

GOOD

- Beautiful room, comfy beds, sea view, giant bath, stayed in a lot of hotel rooms and really impressed (from the other reviews the cheap rooms at the back are not so good so be careful)
- Not too busy, managed to get some sun beds
- Lovely pools
- Chef Suda can cook great Thai food, try the green curry or bananas in coconut milk. We ate there a few times as too lazy/difficult with 3 young kids to go out all the time, surprised it was so quiet.
- Central on beach, lots of bars and places to eat
- Good breakfast included
- Recommend the Thai massage place next door, bit cheaper than hotel but mainly as they have more space and the hotel masseuse was often busy
- Nice chat with the bar man

BAD

- Pricey, if you try direct you would get better rates?
- Expensive laundry, walk up the road and it is 50 Baht/Kilo and ours was back in 4 hours
- No free Wifi
- Sea too rough for young kids
- Samui is getting too built up and touristy, try Koh Tao unless you really want to be on Samui

This hotel is way over priced for peak season, the rooms are average, medium sized, bathrooms are below average, ours was scummy and had leaks. The pool area is relatively pretty but there aren't enough sun loungers for everyone, so you have to compete with some early rising European guests for a sun lounger ! The food was ok, but we've had much better in koh samui. if you can get a room for cheap enough, then it's fine, but for the price we paid, ( about £88 a night) it is not worth it.

We stayed at the Weekender from Nov. 29 to Dec. 3 in 2010 with our 1 year and 4 year old daughters.

Getting there / arrival
Our flight was majorly delayed and we arrived at midnight, instead of 22h00. No problem, the driver from the hotel was there. So was the friendly receptionist who took us and our luggage to the room

The room
We booked a superior room. It was at the ground floor and only 10 m away from the pool. The also have rooms directly at the pool and others at the pool, looking towards the ocean. Great too, but not good for small children (too close to the pool)

Book a superior room!
The others are at the entrence of the hotel and close to the busy road going through Lamai. They are rather far from the pool and beach and are not situated nicely.
The superior room is just for a king-bed, a baby-bed and a 3rd bed, but okay. They have a bathtube, but only warm, not hot, water.

The room has all it needs. TV, Fridge etc.
It has a nicely decorated terrace with waterflowers in basins. Frogs live there... They are fairly loud at night. That is all you hear though... Besides that it is dead-still.

Service:
Great. Say no more

The pool
Maybe one of the nicest edge-pools one may get with an astounding view! Could not be better and I do not understand, why they do not emphesis this a lot more! Childrenpool and a pool with benches and tables in it is there too.

The beach
Clean, long, with direct access only 3 meters from the pool.

Summery
A good, quiet hotel with a great pool. Good for anyone, be it couples or family. A bit on the expensive side. If you want a gardeners job.. aply. The lawn ist fine, but where are the flowers and plants?

We moved on the the Lamai Wanta, 300m down the beach. Better value. Check our review
