“Was Perfect !”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

My Husband & I love Thailand, our visit to Koh Samui was our fifth times.

We had spent our seven days holiday at Weekender Resort, and we had planed our next visit back already.

The location is good, service is at standard, can not complain for the price (really good value for money), I also had tired the lover spa package (have to say was really excellent and worth a try)

Already missing this place, and thanks to Khun Pui for making our holiday so perfect

Room Tip: standard room was alright, but we upgraded to Deluxe sea view room was best

The entrance is decieving as it is nice. The first room they put us in was on the street - was spacious but empty. There was a king bed, a single bed in a sunroom, a desk & one chair, one chair outside on a balcony where you could smell the not so nice smells from the street (or under it), but no furniture to put your clothes. There was a wardrobe to hang clothes, but no where to but underwear or other non-hangable items.
The TV was small, but on a positive note, the ensuite was well equipped and the bed comfortable.
They did relocate us after a couple of nights to a room on the ground floor with a view of the garden. This was much smaller and quieter with no single bed or additional room. The furniture was exactly the same. The down side was the curtains could not be opened without someone looking in as there was no net curtain provided.
The resort itself: Some staff were reasonably helpful, however after a friend injured herself following a fall from the shower (requiring stitches in the back of the head and elbow) they expected a commision after we requested a taxi to take her to the hospital. Then on the return a request was made for fresh towels as the others had been used and were covered with blood, they wanted her to wait for housekeeping in the morning.
The pool was filthy on our arrival with green algae growing in all facilities. This had been cleaned by the time we left however. The beach area was clean and fresh with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas.
The restaurant where we were supplied a simple breakfast was comfortable, but the staff didn't look like they wanted to be there. Things were always running out - no bread for toasting, no cutlery, no coffee, no milk. They had to be asked to refill these items and looked like they did it reluctantly.
Overall we were very dissatisfied with out stay and will look for different accommodation next time.

Room Tip: Don't trust the images provided, do further research.

The pictures made it look great, but there were a lot of things not great about this place. The staff had terrible customer service, and not just because of the language barrier. There seemed to be only one lady that knew all the answers and she was very rude, unwilling to help, and made you feel like you were inconveniencing her.

Everything from check in, check out, making phone calls, getting internet, and scheduling transportation was very difficult. Every task seemed to be like a new experience for the staff behind the counter. We traveled all over Thailand and experienced great customer service (at much cheaper places), and this place was sub par in all categories.

This place just seemed like it was nickel and diming you for everything.

The room was OK, but the shower temperature was either HOT or COLD. By the end of our stay, I figured out how to get a warm temperature by constantly moving the faucet from hot to cold...not very convenient. We reserved a single bed but received two twins which they wouldn't make-up into a single bed until our second night.

It was impossible to get a spot at the pool/beach, all the guests throw their towels down and leave for hours at a time. We would lay on the sand, but it hurt our feet/bodies.

located in the middle of Lamai beach, but quiet - the perfect location, you have all the entertainement of the busy main street, but since the compound is large, the only sound you hear at night is the sea

due to a minor electrical problem I got upgraded on my second night

biggest disadvantages:
* from a certain point in time, around 9am, the breakfast buffet is more or less empty
* the bad habit of other guests to block places at the pool with their towels in the morning for the whole day (they show up only a smaller part of that time), leaving no place for you if you come later - this could be easily avoided by the hotel by giving out towels at the pool and collecting "ownerless" towels, as other hotels in the same price range do it

Room Tip: don't take the cheapest rooms, they are in the building directly at the main street don't t...

Stayed here two nights in January. The hotel itself is nice...right on the beach...looks elegant...but the customer service is horrible and rude. I asked the front desk for help finding a vegan restaurant and they wanted to charge me 25 baht. Ridiculous.

I was recommended a cheap place to stay in Lamai by a friend and I went there on three occassions in the last two years. Weekender Bungalows is on the opposite side of the road from the resort. There are large rooms in a two storey white building alongside the photography shop, where you pick up the key from the Thai lady who owns a large white husky dog. It costs just under 600 baht per night for a large room. You also have a veranda which is handy to sit on for breakfast which you can buy from the 7 eleven around the corner. There were also much cheaper 250 baht wooden bungalows in a nice garden. Once I stayed in one of these. They are basic with only a bed, small fan and a toilet with cold water shower. However they are fine if you do not care about luxury and just want a typical beach bungalow popular with backpackers.

We stayed as a couple during new year for a week we payed £60 a night we have been in thailand for 13 weeks and this is the worst hotel yet rude staff small rooms, breakfast was terrible. Tiles missing in the pool only 22 sun loungers around the pool so need to get up at 6am to get a sunbed. The only good thing about the hotel is location. Please please please there is better than this for half the money look about. Bill resort £16 a night grand maninta £30 a night are by far better than this place take the nice looking pool away and it's a budget accommodation
