Words can’t describe what an amazing Wedding day we had at Rocky’s Resort on the 26 February 2011. From the moment we all arrived the service at Rocky’s was second to none.

We stayed in the Beach Front Suite which was beautifully decorated and had stunning views of the ocean.

Rio the wedding co-ordinator was fantastic from the start and our Wedding day could not have been more perfect and stress free.

Since leaving Rocky’s our families have not stopped talking about how wonderful our Wedding day was and will be talked about for years to come.

We highly recommend Rocky’s for your wedding day and would like to thank all the staff for their hard work in making our day extra special. We will definitely be back soon.

My son got married at Rocky's Resort in Koh Samui. The wedding was amazing. There was Thai music and dancers and was very organized. It was done on the beach against the backdrop of the ocean. We stayed 2 nights. There was an awesome complimentary breakfast both mornings. The service was perfect as it was with all the staff. The staff are essentially there for you and never seem to have their attention on themselves. If there was a good deal on there I would love to go back for a week. Also myself and two of my sons went clubbing in Koh Samui in the main city on the night of the wedding. This was quite a night. The clubs were awesome and I think Koh Samui has something for everyone. Thank you, Rocky's. I'll never forget my trip.

first of all i will start with the room,or should i say villa, it was a deluxe thai villa number 1103, there were 4 adults and 2 young children in the party, the accomodation was fantastic, clean and top quality decor. outside our back doors we had our own private pool which the kids loved, it was so handy being so close considering we have a child with walking difficulties and the main pool was just 1 min walk away and was plenty big enough and so clean.
the complex was so beautiful, the gardens so well maintained.
the staff were so helpful and could not do enough for you,the reception staff organised a game of golf for our party and it went so smooth from pick up to drop off, the staff had a permanent smile on their face and were so courteous especially Sarawut the resort manager.
we were at the complex for my brother in laws wedding, and what a day it was, all planned down to the finest detail by Rio, the firework display even though only 3 minutes long was the best i have seen, wow!!!!!
the beach is very small and secluded with views to die for.
the complex had 2 main pools, the 2nd one was at the side of the beach.
the food was fantastic, especially the rocky's breakfast and the steak frites of an evening.
there are plenty of tut tuts available outside for a visit to lamai(50 baht per adult, kids free)
or chaweng(100 baht per adult, kids free). went to a walking street in lamai, on every sunday where you won't get any mad scooter drivers trying to run you down. lamai is quiet compared to the hustle and bustle of chaweng.
would i go back, yes i would, this was our first visit to thailand and loved it
would i recommend it, yes i would

the only thing you need to be prepared for are the dreaded mosquito's

We picked this resort from previous trip advisor reviews and we had high expectations. This resort exceeded them by far.
From the moment we arrived it was all about service and style. From arrival where the resort is lit with fairy lights and candles to check-in to the room itself pure class. Those little things which seem so trivial but matter so much to feeling welcome.
I couldn't wait to wake up the next morning to check out the view (we booked a beachfront junior suite) and I wasn't disappointed. Awesome! Even now all I have to do is look at the pictures and I feel all calm and relaxed.
Staff couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. Any issues you have are dealt with amazingly quickly and without fuss. I wish other places could learn from them.
Both pools are kept spotlessly clean. Fresh towels always available. The garden pool has 2 jacuzzi type bits to it. I can certainly recommend the massage sala (thanks to mum). Both bar areas are well staffed and they really look after you. Bringing iced water and fruit to the sunbeds throughout the day.
As for the restaurant- The Dining Room- we can only say we have never tasted food that good. Surpasses most Michelin starred restaurants in the UK. The 7 course menu on Valentines Night was divine. To have dinner on the rock with the food, atmosphere and sounds of the ocean was amazing.
Breakfast was great- no keeping food warm, all individually cooked from the menu. We can recommend the eggs benedict and the Spanish omelette. We only wanted lunch on 2 out of the 9 days we were there.
The rooms are beautiful with amazing little touches- flowers everywhere. Turn down service with sweets every night. At the entrance to the room there was a water bowl with floating flowers to rinse off the sand from your feet before going in. Little nicknacks all over to make the room feel more than just a hotel room. Even incense burners, and oil burners. They provide a plug in insect repellant to. They even provide a multi region extension board to plug in the electricals without the need for any adaptors.
Thank you to all the staff who made us so welcome without being intrusive. Especially to Julian and to Art who always made a point to say hello and help us.
We can say that never have we both felt so happy anywhere on holiday. We look forward to returning as soon as we can.

We arrived at Rocky's on an evening and first impressions - WOW - amazing! It is in a beautiful location and the resort, grounds and rooms have been designed and built to the highest and most tasteful of standards in contemporary Thai design. We were made to feel really welcome and taken to our gorgeous beach front accomodation which was filled with orchids and, again, wonderfully decorated and spacious.
We opened our front door onto the beach of a small cove which looked like it was right out of a bounty advert.
Of course none of this comes cheap at £220 per night including breakfast. Rocky's obviously pride themselves on their service - in the resort information pack the owner says he's visited hotels around the world and was fed up of bad service so he opened Rocky's as somewhere you could be treated as one of the family - a lot to live up to and they fail miserably. The staff are all friendly, willing and smiley - lovely people - what they obviously are not is well trained and they don't speak much English at all which leads to communication problems.
The food is really good, breakfast is a hot and cold buffet with everything you could ever want and all of a high standard. There are two restaurants - the Dining Room which is high end European/French style food and a Bistro which serves Thai and European and is more informal. Again, service is poor and haphazard - we waited 20 minutes to be served with Tea/Coffee at breakfast and had bad service at both restaurants and we really are not bothered about the odd error but we were given small bottles of beer when we ordered large (costs a lot more to drink it this way), an amuse bouche was forgottern so brought with our starters, they forgot which wine we ordered, couldn't understand when we asked to wait to look at the desert menu and then got the billing wrong by charging us for our and the next tables meals. It's not what you expect for the prices you pay.
This all sounds negative but we did have a great time at Rocky's and I am sure these problems are easily sorted with a few English lessons and a bit of training, it's a real shame cos Rocky's could be truly great.
There is another issue we had though - in 7 days there were 4 weddings. This means that the little cove in front of our accommdation resembled a building site and we were turfed off the beach at midday and couldn't really sit outside our rooms. Again, for the price they should at least have warned us. I recommend that if you stay there you request to be away from where the weddings are peformed.
