“Nice experience”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Nice spot only 1 street from the beach. The birds woke me up in the morning and I borrowed a bike from Perce and Alix and rode into Palm Cove for a coffee.
Palm cove is only a 10 min ride along a beautiful boardwalk.
Yeap I will definitely be back as the cold hits Melbourne.

We stayed here in April 2014 for several days. The room was very comfortable with a good bed, fridge for food/beers and a balcony looking straight out onto rainforest! We really enjoyed the sound of the animals and saw some wallabies jumping around. The beach is just a few minutes walk away and it's a great beach....it is several km long and you can walk all the way along it to Palm Cove which is full of restaurants. A supermarket is about 3 minutes drive away if you want to make your own food - easy! Perce and Alix who run the place are lovely, really friendly and always happy to help. I would definitely recommend staying in Clifton Beach rather than Palm Cove....quieter and less touristy. Also there is plenty to do within 60-90 minutes drive....Babinda Boulders, Josephine Falls, Tablelands, Kuranda, Port Douglas, Crocodile Zoo, snorkelling tours. It also makes a good stopping off point on the way up to Cape Tribulation and is very easy to drive to from Cairns Airport - less than 30 minutes and simple route.

Great holiday - thank you!

Rich and Avi

Our family loved our stay at the Clifton Beach Retreat. Feeling like home, this B & B has earned the word 'retreat'. It is cozy and well-situated if you want to get away from the urban scene. Within our first hours we saw a mother wallaby with a joey in her pouch. We could hear the Laughing Kookaburras from our deck. That's our kind of accommodation.

Very peaceful. Idyllic setting overlooking pool and garden. Host Alix very hospitable.
Located near very beautiful tropical beach within walking distance. at times today we were the only people on the beach. Comfortable bed, good fly screens and fans. Good wifi . Recommended for couples or friends.

We have booked this place in last minute because we had to find a place to stay. We felt like everyting was not ready there and some items were missing. The host was great and friendly and also the location is OK. A good breakfast was provided in the room.

We enjoyed this B&B. Very comfortable bed, excellent shower and lovely pool and view of the wildlife. Breakfast was varied and tasty and this is very close the to beach, although not to the swimming nets (in stinger season). A few minor things - the only working locked door was the fly-screen one, the bathroom and toilet is not totally enclosed from the rest of the living area and it was in need of a bit of a dust on the higher surfaces, although the rest was very clean.

We needed somewhere to stay north of Cairns in order to view the total solar eclipse and were very pleased indeed by our week-long stay. Alex and Perce were very hospitable and keen to help us with our plans. It was wonderful to watch the birds and wallabies in the scrub land from the balcony and to have a refreshing dip in the pool. The wifi enabled us to talk with our family in the UK on the iPad and we had no problems keeping cool ( and insect-free) during the night. It is a great base to visit the Atherton Tablelands and Cape Tribulation. Best of all, we managed to view the eclipse from the nearby beach. Highly recommended.
