We ended our Norway journey at Solstrand for 3 nights. We knew it was going to be a very nice experience, but what we have discovered here was simply amazing. The mansion is a true beauty, it has been refurbished and modernized during the past decade with full respect of the original construction. The gardens, pools, buildings and rooms are very well maintained.
The large "salons" and bars that cover a huge part of the mansion bring you back in the early 1900's, but in a modern environment. They are stunning. The view on the fjord and the landscape you have from almost anywhere is simply stunning. The pool, sauna, jacuzzi experience is absolutely wonderful. It's a modern, huge and clean area where silence is the main actor.
The personnel is wonderfully helpful and friendly.
We had 3 breakfasts here that were one of the best ever experiences, and I can tell you I've seen lots of hotel breakfasts all over the world.
We also had 2 dinners, we took the daily menu each time, and it was delightful.
In conclusion, this place is a real discovery that I would like to share with many.
Small side note, the bathrooms are (too) small compared to the greatness of the resort.
