Review of Asador Don Joaquin

Asador Don Joaquin
Ranked #1 of 6 Restaurants in Pizarra
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$53 - US$59
Cuisines: Grill
Description: Rotisserie cooking and traditional Castilian breathes air. Among their kitchens, and wood oven, it is made a careful selection of dishes that combine seasonal produce from the garden with the juiciest of meats, not to mention a variety of fresh fish and seafood, fresh from the market. The flavors are enveloped by the rustic setting, warm materials and contemporary decor of the restaurant.

Every time I go here, I enjoy the experience and the wonderful food. The wine was delicious, the only criticism I have is that I hoped the bill would remind me of the name. It was a 32 Euro wine from the Ribera del Duero and was Crianza being aged for at least one year. The children all finished their plates, they were wiped clean. Amazing, every time, this is the case. A six year old and two twelve year olds, left spotless plates. The starters, salads and mains are amazing, great quality, good portions and delicious. In fact, I think my swordfish was the best that I tasted! We jumped off cliffs in the lakes, climbed to the top of El Santo and this was the highlight. we sat outside under the stars. It does not get any better than this. Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic friends and delicious food. We were totally satisfied except puddings or postres needed to be ordered twice and there was a long wait. It was a Saturday in August but I felt the regulars received greater priority. My advice, go during the week and it should be fine, go at the weekend and expect a certain amount of daly as the place gets busier. The biographical stories: Waterwitch, Uganda Palaver and Seveny Seven show how good other places can be but this place is better than any featured in my thrillers: Switch, Carrom and Innocent Proven Guilty. I love it!
