“Beautiful location with high quality accommodation and warm welcome”
Reviewed 25 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We knew within moments of our arrival why Riverbank had come so highly recommended. Tracy there to greet us with a packed hamper of goodies to get our stay off to a great start. The cottage has every comfort and the kitchen was very well equipped. It is a lovely home but the beautiful garden and riverside location make it outstanding. Regardless of unseasonal fog on the moors we had sun to spot the otter and kingfisher. So peaceful but great places nearby - Whitby, Staithes and RSPB Bampton Cliffs with puffins and walks from the doorstep just a taste. We are certain to return.

A beautiful cottage with a wonderful summer house close to the River Esk (You can even go fishing in the river!). The cottage is in walking distance to Whitby and nearby to some wonderful walks and beauty spots. Everything in the cottage was in pristine condition and, overall, we had a brilliant time. The owners were very kind and generous with their gift hamper and providing everything needed for a perfect stay. They were very quick to respond and resolve a minor problem with a smoke alarm and we can't wait to book another holiday there. Perfect!

I stayed here in April for a week with my parents and my daughter....what an amazing place!!

We arrived at the cottage to be greeted by Tracy, the owner and we were given the keys. Riverbank cottage is in the perfect location. Within a short walk to the train station and shops and just outside Whitby itself.

The cottage was beautiful inside and out. There was a parking space around the back of the cottage which was right next to the back door for easy access with our luggage.

Tracy had prepared a hamper containing lots of goodies like biscuits, chocolate, tea and wine and had stocked the fridge with milk, butter and orange juice. There was also fresh bread and cupcakes from the local bakery which were truly delicious!

Upstairs in the twin bedroom there was a Easter egg on the bed with my daughters name iced onto it. She was so happy when she saw it and we thought this was a lovely, kind gesture.

The cottage was beautifully set out. It was spacious and well presented and there wasn't anything that hadn't been thought of. There was a huge garden with a summerhouse overlooking the river and a place to sit out and eat if you wanted to.

The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms were very clean and airy and the twin room had a beautiful view of the river .At certain times you even could see the steamtrains in the distance. There were Tvs in both bedrooms, local information leaflets, maps and train timetables in the living room along with board games, books and even free WiFi!

This has got to be the best place I have ever stayed whilst on holiday.I felt relaxed and comfortable and felt at home. I would recommend this cottage very highly!
