“Lovely accommodation - some observations but no complaints”

Stayed there for 2 days - owner very obliging -lot of time and effort spent on place - warm clean & comfortable and good value. Place has lovely views and rural - not remote by car - if you intend to stay on foot it is down a steep track off a fast road so walking back into sleights is not recommended . That said we walked the other way to little beck down a country lane which picks up fosse falls and the last part of the coast to coast walk so good for walkers. Cab from Whitby was only £10

“Lovely accommodation, location, area.”

The cottage was clean and well equipped. It is on a farm and below the main road so quite. Views over the valley and can see Whitby Abbey in the distance. Very convenient for the N. Yorks coast, moors and York is just over an hour away. No broadband but this was a good thing. Take some DVDs. Owners live next door and were very friendly and helpful.

“Just Perfect!”

Underhill Cottage is located in the village of Sleights, a few miles outside Whitby.. the village has a lovely pub a few hundred meters from the cottage, a bakery and an excellent butchers shop.
Tina and Andy were perfect hosts, happy to offer advice where needed and provided any additional items we needed for the cottage.
Upon arrival the steep track was, as previously documented slightly daunting but easy to negotiate. The garden was perfect for the children to play in, quiet, secluded and a considerable distance from the main road. The cottage itself was absolutely lovely! very spacious lounge/kitchen/diner which was fully equipped for our stay, loved the fact that it had both a dishwasher and washing machine. The bedroom was similarly very roomy. The decor and amenities within the cottage were clearly chosen with care and decor was neutral and very tasteful. Views across the local fields and over to Whitby were beautiful.
All in all a perfect location. Can't wait to return!

We were welcomed by Tina and Phebs the friendly dog. First thing we noticed was how nice, clean and spacious the cottage was. We stayed 5 nights and really enjoyed the lovely comfy sofas after a walking what seemed miles in the sea air. Will definitely revisit.

Liked best: The location
Liked least: the hill to get to it, which was daunting to drive down initially

Upon arrival the steep track was a bit daunting but you get used to it. Views on the way down are stunning. The holiday cottage itself is adorable nice and spacious, lovely and clean. Tina was the perfect host, very friendly and helpful when we needed her. We had a lovely weekend break and a perfect wedding day we certainly reccommend and will be booking another stay in the future.
