“Great relaxing vacation”
Reviewed 30 September 2011

We had a very nice relaxing vacation. As the hotel has just opened everything looked crisp and clean. We very much enjoyed the Spa, as Katarina made our at the Spa very pleasant and enjoyable. With a large variety of massages we selected a few which we enjoyed very much. The large infinity swimmingpool of 90 meters, made us swim several times a day. From the pool we had a beautiful view of the ocean.

Rooms were very clean and modern. White linnen and daily clean towels gave us luxury feeling. Breakfast and dinner where 5 star quality, a wide variety of high quality made us enjoy our stay even more. Don't expect parties and clubbing, but rest and relaxation.

The only area of improvement is the english speaking swimmingpool/beach guard . Although there was no life to be rescued, he walked around rather arrogant and selfabsorbed. He was more bushy talking to ladies in bikini than sending away a drunk homeless guy who was laying on the sunbeds at the ocean. We saw him receiving cash for the usage of sunbeds by non-hotel guests.

The hotel gives real value for money, we had a great time and we highly recommend the hotel.

We are glad to hear that guests have enjoyed their vacation and look forward to wecloming them back next year.
With regard to the life guard, recommendations have been made.
Sunbeds on the beach are for the exclusive use of our guests. However and when the occupancies allow it, we do rent them to non-residents. The life guard is responsible for collecting the money which are rung up at the reception.

We stayed for 1 week in September and it was a really enjoyable stay

It felt brand new and it's a first class beachfront property with an infinity pool

The room was situated on the side overlooking Pigadia with a great view in the setting sun

Clean ,spacious and a great bed. the balcony was large and had almost unlimited view

Plenty of sunbeds both on the deck and on the beach

The morning buffet was awesome - everything you could ask for

All in all 5 stars -but I would prefer a heated pool - it felt a couple degrees too cold

Alimounda Mare is a brand new hotel located about 5-10 minutes away from the center of Karpathos Town with very easy access, but at the same time secluded enough to offer very relaxing vacations. We visited for two weeks in the middle of August and our experience could not have been better. The room was spotless, quite spacious and with a modern design. Everything you would expect from a 5 star room was there. Nice touch with the camouflaged LCD TV hidden behind the transparent central mirror across the bed. The view from the balcony was one of a kind, overlooking the pool area and the private beach. Hotel staff seemed highly trained and was very helpful when needed.
Breakfast was served from 07:00 till 11:00 in an area beside the pool. Great variety was offered as well as local Karpathian treats which were delicious! One of our best experiences during our stay was taking breakfast beside the pool early in the morning while the sun was rising!
Pool area is unique and very well designed. The size of the pool is just incredible and definitely one of the biggest if not the biggest I have ever seen. It was difficult to tell where the pool ended and the ocean began! A lot of activities that kept us entertained were taking place during the day and afternoon, such as music nights with different kinds of themes. The pool bar is open throughout the day and is one of the best places in the island to enjoy a relaxing, well served cocktail. Sophia, member of the bar staff, was always very helpful and kind.
Karpathos Island is highly recommended for relaxing vacations and there are countless beaches to visit with the bluest waters in the Mediterranean. A very beautiful island with big part of its tradition still preserved. Also local traditional cuisine is one of a kind! Don’t forget to try ‘Makarounes’, a local pasta dish.
Should you choose Karpathos for your next vacation, you cannot go wrong with Alimounda Mare! Will be visiting again!

I stayed there for a week in July with my friend. The Hotel personnel was really friendly and helpful. I liked a lot the architecture of the Hotel and where is located. The room was very clean, the view from the balcony amazing, everything was fairly new and I had a great stay. I also enjoyed a lot the drinks from the Hotel Bar. The only think I didn't enjoyed much for a 5 star hotel was the breakfast. I would expect a better quality in all the products.

I stayed at this newly built and well established hotel for more than 10 days during the beginning of August. Island was originally selected for its great beaches which are ideal if you need to have a short but relaxing and quiet vacation. The hotel is situated only 5-10 minutes walk from the city centre. Its location is ideal as you have an uninterrupted sea view towards the sea side infinity and you are also extremely close to the city centre. The hotel's pool is ultra-large situated at the edge of the hotel towards the sea side, which gives you the impression that it is the continuation of the sea. It is also equipped with a free daily fresh towel service which is extremely handy. The rooms are spacious (even if you go for the standard) and very well decorated (the mirror-TV is a catcher). The hotel's restaurants (a la carte and buffet) are well organized and the food is excellent in its most majority (go also for the pizza, freshly made and served by the italian chef). The spa is also great and relaxing as it serves a great number of massage types and relaxing services (try the snail showers). Generally one of the best hotels I've stayed in a long time in terms of cleanliness and services standard. Will sure try to visit again next year...

Room Tip: Go for the sea view superior rooms or the beautifully located suites...
