My wife and I have just returned from a two week's all inclusive holiday at the Luabay Marivent and had a fantastic time . On arrival at reception we were given a glass of bubbly, which was an unusual and a nice welcoming touch. Have to say nearly all the staff in the hotel were young but because of that they had great energy and where extremely friendly with a special mention from me and my wife goes to Marcello one of the barman , who we had a great relationship with and made me fantastic Whiskey sours your the man amigo ! As for Hotel we booked a Superior, sea view room overlooking the sea and beach room (1304 ) on the third floor , which was perfect as you also got the late afternoon sun so you can go up to you room around 3pm and sit up on the balcony until late in the day if you wish . As for the room itself agree with one person in another review , when they mention the room could do with drawers but everything else was excellent and lovely and clean with not just our towels but bed linen changed daily as well. However can understand some of the older people being worried about the shower as it could be a slip hazard with the water easily splashing outside of cubical (suggest rubber mat maybe) also loved the fridge which we took advantage off despite all inclusive as we we often have a glass or two of wine when we got back from the nightly entertainment. and sat on the balcony to drink it lovely . As mentioned went all inclusive and can only recommend this as if you are only half board that can be expensive with cocktails costing between 7 & 9 euros and glass of beer around 3.5 euros . All meals were excellent and varied. cant understand some people here as we where on a cruise with P&O Azura last year and it compared well with that and all meals where well supplemented with Chef's personally cooked choices of fish and meats and my wife loved the deserts which where lovely . The area around the hotel is old hasn't changed much since we where last there a few years ago not a great deal to be found but enough for basic requirements i.e your paper fags etc and a few good bars and few decent restaurants . The hotel was approx 15 mins bus ride into Palma , where either the no 3 or 20 would get you there and are an excellent and cheap (1.50 euro single) means of traveling into the centre which is a must as Palma is fantastic and cheap with it to . The entertainment at the hotel was fantastic especially Damien he had so much energy and got people of all ages dancing and singing also a mention for the Abba group, who we saw on out last night where fantastic including there clothes which looked very authentic . Would we go back yes as long as the staff was there because along with the Thompson rep Alex they made the holiday for us along with some nice people we we talked to over our two weeks.
