“Perfect if you have children”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

My partner and I booked a studio in the peaceful Sant Elms. The position of the apartments is located nicely in the center of this small village, 2 min walk from the beach. Room offered beautiful sea views. The size of the studio is would comfortably fit 3 people. It has a kitchen with a sitting room and a bedroom. Bedroom is reasonable size with a big comfortable bed, our bedroom however had a musty smell but after a few minutes in the room we got used to the smell so it didn't bother us horribly.
The bathroom was nice and clean with a shower and offering hairdryer and all bathroom essentials.
Our room had problems with electricity: two days when we came we had no electricity and electrician had to be called. On the 3rd day electricity went when we wanted to make tea. From 3rd day we decided to give up making tea in the room and went for breakfast in St Elms instead.

I was under the impression that we were the only guest without children. Unfortunately our room was located on the 1st floor just above the play area for children. Children were playing football until late hours and older children were throwing around plastic seesaws for toddlers. We found the noise and ball games incredibly annoying.

Internet is not available free of charge.

I'm taking away 2 stars for: the noise outside, problems with electricity and no free internet.
I will be happy to stay at Don Camilio again but will stay away from this part of the building.

Room Tip: Stay away from room 601 and this part of the hotel if you find kids playing all day outside your roo...

Staye five nights from 22nd September 2013.
On arrival offered free upgradefrom studio to apartment. Good size, with room on balcony for full length sun loungers and excellent sea views. Room spotlessly clean but dated, think anaglypta wallpaper and spruce green emulsion!
Opted for breakfast to be included when booking which was comprehensive and good value.
I think we were the only independent travelling English couple in the hotel which is very well located, just a couple of minutes up the hill from a blue flag beach. There is no parking, but we were directed to an unmade unofficial parking area at the top of the hotel which proved convenient and troublefree.
Sant Elmo itself is very laid back and relaxed. No need to dress for dinner and all local restaurants offered good service and well prepared meals.
We spent the five days either relaxing on the beach or following goat paths on gentle walks in the surrounding hills, the unexpected hot weather in late September curtailing any more energetic walking.
Recommended choice for parents of very young children or older couples looking for a very quiet and laid back vacation in a friendly village offering great views and stunning sunsets.

Room Tip: Our room (624) offered great sea views and being at the side of the hotel meant the sun loungers on...

We spent 8 nights at this complex & were extremely impressed with the standard of the apartments & views. The staff were very friendly & helpful and a lovely touch by Felicity the manager introducing herself to us when we arrived to check in as the room was not ready so we were shown the bar/pool area and quickly informed when the room was available. Felicity was also very helpful and obliging when we requested a different apartment on a higher floor, it was no trouble & definitely worth the move as the views were spectacular of Dragonara island & the bay with a large balcony & spacious living area. Sant Elms is a lovely resort, mixed nationalities & a real gem for Mallorca away from all the busy resorts but with enough restaurants & boutique shops. Port Andrax is a short taxi drive is very cosmopolitan & upmarket with many restaurants & bars, a sophisticated harbour which comes alive at night, well worth a visit. If you want a holiday away from the crowds then recommend Sant Elm & Don Camilo as your place to stay. Very enjoyable relaxing holiday.

We really enjoyed this hotel and area. The room was clean and spacious with a beautiful balcony overlooking the bay and pool. The kitchen had everything that we needed and the bathroom was quite large. The staff brought me a fan at no charge (The ac worked great, I just like the fan noise). We loved Sant Elm beach and the close by Camp de Mar and Port de Andratx areas. We wish we would have just done our whole vacation here instead of checking out the other side of the island too. We wound up coming back anyway. The manager was super friendly, I can't praise the hotel enough :). If we ever come back to Mallorca, we will stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a high floor room.

Enjoyed our family stay for a week in this aparthotel. Pool is small but don't let that put you off. Rooms are very nice and clean, and the service was top notch. A special thanks to Juan Diaz who was amazingly friendly and polite. 10/10 for his service and smile!

Also very close to the beach and restaurants, this aparthotel is a tad more expensive than many others, but is well worth it. Great for families with kids as they have great reps who will keep them entertained every night.

I would recommend this hotel if you want to get away from the bigger tourist places in Majorca. The village is very nice and small, a few good restaurants and 2 smaller beaches. The best thing with the hotel is the view. The staff is nice and friendly. The only negative that I can think of is the very uncomfortable beds and pillows and that you can hear the neighbours (inefficiently soundproof).

This was our second trip to Don Camilo in three years. The apartments are well appointed, airconditioned and many have large balconies facing the sea with great views. We chose the type A apartment, with a separate bedroom for the kids, while we slept in the living/dining area. We also chose to eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel, so we really enjoyed eating out by the pool each day. The food varied from day to day - the quality was good and there was a good deal of choice. The pool is great for the kids, but is not supervised and has a deep end (2.2m) so supervision of our 4 year old was necessary. The beach is right across the road and down some steps, and is very safe for kids, shallow with no waves. The water is beautifully clean and you can try your hand at catching the little fish swimming around your feet. Our kids took advantage of the organised activities with the play leader during the day, and loved MINIDISCO every evening after dinner. While there is a bar at the hotel, it is usually very quiet after about 10pm as almost everyone in the hotel had kids ranging from babies up to about 10 years old. If you are looking for nightclubs and parties, this place probably isn't for you. The small town of San Telmo is on the doorstep, with a few small restaurants and ice cream cafes. You'll need a car if you want to visit other resorts or attractions, and the hotel staff can easily organsie this for you. Bring some cash with you though as it seems San Telmo doesn't have a bank machine! It is a predominantly German resort, and some of the hotel staff seem to speak better German than English - the upside is that German tourists expect quality and they get it here. All in all, we loved the hotel and San Telmo.
