“This is a great THREE STAR! hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014 via mobile

We're coming to end of our stay here. It is a fantastic three star hotel. Ignore the previous winging submissions as they will from people that are either incapable of chosing the right hotel for themselves or the sort of people that sadly are never happy, come what may.

The reception is welcoming and the staff great when you arrive. The rooms are really tidy and perfect for the star rating of the hotel. Fridge in room and small kitchen area. No kettle but we just brought coffees and teas back from the bar. There are steps about resort, but for every route with steps there is another without them. So if you are a wheelchair user or have a pram you'll be fine here. There is a central lift to the restaurant etc as well. The complex layout is good. Yes there is a bit of noise from the pool area but remember 99% coming here are families coming for fun. There is a nice mix of people and nationalities. The resort is very secluded but one would think you would know this when you booked it. I did. It's less than 2 quid by bus to Mahon and a taxi is approx 15 quid one way. It's a semi remote family holiday destination!

Yes the cleaning staff clean the rooms every day except Tuesdays and Sundays. If that serious impares your holiday, try another venue. There is a charge for the safes and we didn't bother and left everything in a case all the time with no bother.

There is a shop on the complex and I thought it was well priced.

Drinks and food are good. There is a great choice every night with all sorts of different foods from steaks to pizza. Every night there was amazing fish and occasionally prawns and langostines. Food ticked the box for all the family and the salads are fantastic.

Only minor downside is the deckchairs. They do seem to be heavily reserved with towels. I accidentally woke at 6:20 on the third day and wondered how many were already reserved at this time. I ventured out with my towels, determined not to be beaten by them. It was like a Germanic version of the movie Evil Dead as everyone scrapped their way bleary eyed towards the pool with their towels. A third of the loungers were already reserved, even at this time.

If I could advise the hotel on an improvement I would suggest a few more bar staff (I hate queuing) - but that is honestly it.

Fab holiday. Fab food. 5 star review for a three star hotel.

Like a lot of other people, after booking this hotel and reading the reviews on this hotel, I was a little worried about a few things. I needn't be at all, and it made me realise that there is just no pleasing some people.

I'm not going to ramble on and write a massive essay, as people reading just want to scroll through and take what they can from a review so I will attempt to sum it up.

I went here for 11 nights with my boyfriend on the 30th June until the 11th July. I am 24 years old and my boyfriend is 28 years old. We loved it. We had a brand new room with a walk in shower, and the apartment was absolutely beautiful with a balcony view of the sea. Maids came in every other day.

Pool area is perfect, pool is huge and clean. Lots of sunbeds.

Entertainment team absolutely brilliant, we made really good friends with Thies, JT and Jess, and they really made our holiday with the banter. Activities all day long such as football, volleyball, aqua-aerobics, water polo (for kids and adults) giant jenga, certificates for winners and just all round giggles!! We were lucky enough to be there in the midst of the world cup, and score prediction winners won a bottle of Champers which was a lovely touch.

Food is lovely, cannot go wrong, so much choice for everyone, whatever sort of food you like.
Drinks were fab, everything you could think of, cocktails, spirits, beer, soft drinks, tea, coffee.. no complaints there!!

As expected, the only downside is the location, which is remote. Fine if you are planning to spend your whole holiday by the pool, but if you like to get out and about and begrudge paying taxi fayres then maybe this isn't the place for you.

We went on a harbour boat trip in Mahon - which was brilliant, very interesting.

Also what the reps have started doing is a coach trip from the hotel to the most commercial beach Son Bou, which is where me and my boyfriend hired a speedboat for 60 euros which was fab!! Coach trip is 14 euros each return and gives you 5 hours at the beach which is well worth it.

To sum it up, we had the most fabulous holiday, lots of laughs, very relaxing, everything we could have wanted from 11 days in the sun. Would go back.

Room Tip: Aries block for a brand new room with a sea view.

I traveled to menorca with my partner. As I am 5 months pregnant we were looking for peaceful and quiet place but in the same time we wanted to experience some of the Spanish culture, good music, romantic scenery and so on as this was supposed to be our ' honeymoon' before the baby was born. This looked like a perfect place to go!
When we arrived to the destination we were a bit disappointed...
The property itself has a great potential. It is situated in a residential area, there is a big swimming pool, with separate areas for children, nice, big bar/ lounge area where we thought we could enjoy the evenings and ,I read in some of other people reviews that, there was a town 10 min away from the hotel with bars and restaurants. From the terrace above the main building we could see the see so we were happy that the beach would be in a walking distance from the hotel. But we were wrong!!!!
If you want to go to the town you have to take a bus that leaves 4 times a day to the capital ( about 15 min ride). The last one is at 7pm so if you want to go to those bars and restaurants you would have to take a taxi ( about 20€) to get back to the hotel. If you like to go to the beach, the one by the hotel is like a little harbour, there is no space to sunbathe nor to swim;( every time we were going to the beach we had to take a bus to Mahon, the capital, and then , from there, another bus to the beach. We couldn't even spend all day in the place we were going to visit as we had to be back in Mehon before 7pm to catch the last bus to our hotel.
Another thing is the entertainment in the hotel. The team is very good with children games and some quizzes for adults, but unfortunately, only for families!! Most of the team members are German or Dutch so forget about Spanish culture or nice music! There was a lot of people like us, couples, who would spend their evenings sitting by the tables on their iPhones and iPads in complete silence as, after the entertainment was finished, there was no music at all. After the dinner we were going to sit in the terrace to enjoy the views, but again, after sunset we would sit in the darkness as there was no candles nor lamps;/ And it takes so little to create a nice atmosphere. T hey still have a lot to learn!!!
And finally, if you are going for all inclusive holiday you expect that all you need would be provided... There was no hair dryer in the room, we were told to pay about 18€ to rent it, so we bought our own in Mahon. The next day a hair dryer appeared in our room. If they only informed us that they were going to install them in all the rooms two days before we wouldn't have to go to the town and buy one!! But they didn't know!!!
The rooms are like little appartment with kitchen units, very nice and clen with big TV , but if you would like to make tea in the afternoon or evening you had to rent a kettle!!! Is this all inclusive? I don't thing so!
We also booked all day trip, called 'Treasures of menorca'. It was ok but the main theme were discounts in the shops in Mehon with two hours free time to run around the shops, so we had to visit all those historic places ourselves. And,what is more, the hotel didn't provide any lunch, we had to buy one! Isn't lunch included in a all inclusive deal?
Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad place to go, but if you don't want to sit every day by overcrowded pool, and go and explore the island or be able to go to the nice beach, this is not a place to go!!

The rooms are small, only single beds, but most annoying is the furniture scraping on the tiles in the room above you. Woken up at 7am every day with screeching. You have to be up at 7am to put your towel on a sunbed or you don't get one. The free alcohol is non-branded and not great, but with All Inclusive you expect this. However, you can't even buy nice alcohol in the hotel. They have a strange drink tokens to avoid paying a glass collector. The maid lets herself into the room without knocking at 8am to clean, so time your morning shower well! The team take photos round the pool, but charge 7-15 Euros per picture - very expensive so make sure you have you're own camera.

The pool is good for kids, great size and clean. They had a wide range of food. The entertainment for kids was ok and the First Chioce reps were great.

All in all a bad hotel choice. Nice to be home.

My boyfriend and i have only just returned from here (11th july) and the only regret i have is not booking an extra week!

I was so surprised at the value for your money considering its only 3 star! Our room was lovely, spacious and clean and most importantly our bed was so comfortable being able to use a nice duvet thanks to the great air con!

Food was lovely, always something for everyone from sea food to pasta to burgers, chicken and chips and a big salad bar and delicious puddings. Lots of snacks during the day too including biscuits, chips, pasteries!

Yes it is in the middle of no where but a few small shops just under the hotel with everything you could possibly need from food to suncream and toiletries to some lovely little gifts to take home. Short bus journey into mahon which is a lovely day out.

Plenty to do in the resort anyway for both adults and children.

Only complaint would be evening entertainment, huge dissapointment, always rushed and entertainer "jess" massively let the entertainment team down with her enormous lack of enthusiasm, however the professional act was good!
Didnt find the thomson reps jess and sam to helpful or polite either, always seemed to tired and not much smiling.

Overall a happy, friendly resort with outstanding value for money and would recommend to both couples and families and would probably visit again!
