We arrived at La Molina having spent the afternoon being pummeled by the wind blowing onto the beach at Caleta de Famara. We were thirsty and in need of a restful place to eat. It was also our last night on Lanzarote and we wanted a memorable meal to end our week on the island. At La Molina we found all that we were looking for. On arrival we were offered a glass of cava each while we looked around the restaurant (and attached gallery) to choose our seats - the restaurant itself is spread over two floors, with the upper floors looking down over a small, central courtyard. We had our two-year old son with us so chose seats in the smaller room with the lower couches, which he really liked. We found the decoration very fitting to the place, and overall it had a really relaxed and calm air.

Food
Our host on Lanzarote had advised us to visit La Molina because of the quality of the food and we are thankful to him for it. It was by far the best meal that we had on the island and excellent value (we had four glasses of wine, two starters, two main courses, one huge child's portion and a fresh-fruit smoothie, all for €48). Of the two starters, one was really good, the other superb both in its simplicity and taste: courgette with parmesan, olive oil and lemon, with shavings of beetroot. The main courses of tuna steak and beef steak were perfectly done and came with just the right proportion of side dishes, which the house wines complemented nicely. For our son they made up a fresh-fruit smoothie though this wasn't on the menu and he downed the lot. We didn't have desert because we didn't have the room for it.

Our waiter, G, was friendly, attentive and very helpful (especially as regards catering to our son).

Tripadvisor's review guidelines say that we should mention what we liked least: H didn't particularly like the quinoa that went with her tuna but then she's not a fan of quinoa in general, she just wanted the tuna.

In summary, worth traveling to.
