“Blue village Playa Feliz”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

Coming back to Bahia Feliz, this time living in the apart hotel Playa Feliz. We loved it! Much calmer than the main hotel and the large pool area. The restaurant much more civilised( calmer) than the large restaurant.

The pool area was easy accessable no problem with the sunchairs ;).

One day excursion to Anfi beach - local bus very easy and compared to taxi cheap.

My teenagers found friends to hangout with all week.

We enjoyed the trip and we can recommend this resort ;)

Room Tip: Try to get a room with sea view ;)

We've just returned from 8 days in a 2 bed roomed apartment at the far end of the complex (2 adults and 16 and 14 year old). The apartment was great, big enough bedrooms with loads of storage, reasonably well equipped hair dryer, washing up liquid, TV, air con to lounge. It had 2 patios, the best one facing the ocean, which was a stones throw away. The patio furniture was good quality, not cheap plastic. The maid service was great make that brilliant, no trips to the bottle bank necessary. We stayed half board and went out most days getting back around 3 or 4 pm. The pool was never too crowded and whilst there was the usual towels reserving sun beds, there was never any problem getting four sun beds together when we returned. There is a small supermarket with the basics and a larger one the other side of the hotel, where there are also about 8 restaurants with a few gift shops.
We found the food to be generally good, with plenty of choice. The maitre'ds were good and the waiters were great especially Isaac. Half a bottle of wine with a couple of cokes cost 8.6 euros.
The coffee shop by the pool was really nice, although the fruit smoothies were lovely they were 4 euros.
The two heavy smokers on the patio below our bedroom window meant that smoke did enter our bedroom, when we were trying to get to sleep to the sound of the ocean. The beach as most beaches on the island consists mainly of large pebbles with black sand at low tide
On the whole the apartment offered really good value for money and the staff were really friendly.

We went on easter holidays april 2014. It was more than hot enough to get tan, swim in the ocean and pools. If you are traveling with small children I strongly reccomend uv-swimsuit with long arms, big sun hats for all, lots of sunscreen and aftersun. The sun is very strong and it is very easy to get sunburned. They have some grat local Aloevera products in the hotel shops or supermarkeds right outside of Orquidea. Because it can get very slippery on the pool floors, the hot sand on the beach and because of the very rocky beach I was very glad we brought swimming shoes. Wawes in the ocean are strong and there are rocks and sand on the sea bottom so choose swiming shoes (or swimming socks) that would stay on :) Pools are great for smaller children. We did not try to swim in the sea with our 2 year old, but our 10 year old enjoyed the wawes in the ocean. We had all-inclusive and it was a great! If you have all-inclusive DO book dinner at Tavern by the sea when you arrive, it is full lots of nights. Information distribution (like meal times, activities, safe rent, wi.fi, pooltowels rules ect.) is poor and you have to get it separately for Playa Feliz or Orquideia. If you have to be online all the time (or have kids who love to) this is NOT the place to be. The staff is doing all they can to make everyone happy. We stayed in room 319, two bedrom and livingroom. Second floor so you have to walk up and down stairs. If you use stroller for the baby this is not so convinient, but the wiew overlooking the garden and the sea compensates for it. Bathroom vas ok with shower only. We brought our own little Stokke bath for our 2 year old and it was enough space to use it there. The territory is BIG so lots of walking. Bring your snekers or sport sandals! Price/ quality is totaly right for this hotel. Night entertaining varies. We had a great holiday and probably'll be back :)!

My niece (aged 3) had a blast. The rest of us were disappointed. They claim to have a beach, they dont.. The food is the worst I have ever been served, totally disgusting. The lifeguard was a rude young man who got irritated whenever he was interrupted from his texting. The weather was great and the pool OK.

Playa Feliz is a part of Bahia Feliz hotel area. As a hotel complex area is very clean and easy to move around. There are enough area maps to find yourself so you don´t get lost. We didn´t visit hotel Tres Vidas, so I can´t comment on that.

Our family (two adults and three kinds aged 8, 9 and 11) stayed at the hotel Playa Feliz. Hotel was overall very positive. There are one storage and two storage buildings, we stayed at the “far” end from pool area, which was a good decision. Our area was quiet and no passing “humantraffic”. Our room had balcony with seaside view and also second balcony with view to mountains. I can highly recommend this choice; first storage room´s do not have such a great view.

Playa Feliz is smaller than Orquidea and was much better for us. Pool area is not so complex but unfortunately it lacks a good pool for kids aged around 10. There is a pool for very small kids and pool for adults. Water is pretty cold as in every resort – unfortunately. The poolbar has a good food during the day, it is included in all inclusive. Pizzas, sandwishs, fruits, wine, beer, sangria etc are served during the day. You can also get more drinks from bartender if you like. There is also a coffee place but it´s not included all inclusive. There were plenty free sunbeds at the pool, times when we visited Orquidea´s pool it was very difficult to find sunbed because they were reserved with towels. Orquidea´s pool bar is clean and large, it has little better variety of foods than Playa Feliz´s restaurant but not much. There was no traffic at the restaurant.

There is a small playground for the kinds at Orquidea, it could have been bigger though kids get bored quite fast. Anyhow it was nice extra. The beach is very small but it was enough, small surprise is that sunbeds at the beach are not free for hotel customers but it is run by different company. But the beach is very nice, it takes about 5 minutes’ walk to get there from far end of Playa Feliz. Water is warmer than the pool.

Bus connections are just great. You can take a bus to everywhere you want. Local busses are actually busses for tourists because there are almost only tourists in the busses. Drivers speak English and they will help you where you want to get off. Bus fare varies from 1,6 € to 2€ depending where you are going. Hotel staff will also help you to take the correct bus.
At the dinner time both restaurants are free to use, at Playa Feliz and at Orquidea. Although Orquidea has bigger restaurant with more food selections it is noisy and crowdie. We prefer Playa Feliz restaurant but even so both restaurants’ are fine and food is pretty good.

Shows are held in Orquidea showarea. If you want to see shows you better go there in time, are is full of guests and it was hard to find free seats. Program was also pretty dull for our kids so even we went there every night we end up leaving after an hour.

Activities for adults are good, it helps because we understand English and Swedish. For kinds program was little bit harder because they don´t understand those languages. Even this resort is marketed to finish customers there were very limited possibilities for kind to use finish. That was very big minus from our point on view.

Overall I can recommend this resort. Staff are friendly and helpful. If you like jogging there is nice beachstrip where to run.

Allmost forgot.... Tv in our room was not bigger than stamp.... That was not nice....

Room Tip: Choose room at the second storage with view to see and far a away from the pool. This is how you get...

Nice apartments that are new and very clean.

We had one of the last apartments of the complex and that's quite a walk every time from the reception/parking lot especially with your suitcases or groceries. Wifi is quite expensive with € 20,- a week and poor signal inside the apartments.

A car is necessary if you want to shop, eat or see something from the island. The village of Bahia Feliz is very, very small (almost no shops or restaurants)

The complex is crowded with Scandinavian families with children. There not the friendliest people, not as terrible as Russians but there on their way! ;)

From the front office a big shout out for Desiree she is a true treasure for the guests and Nordotel, very helpful and does as much as she can for you to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Ask her for nice restaurants and festivities that are going on during your holiday.

Tips:
- Rent your car with Avis already on the airport, best conditions and price. (Skip the tour operator bus)
- Eat at Lizarran at the Las Terrasas shopping mall (and outlet) for a true Spanish tapas experience
- Visit Playa de Amadores and over there Bistro Salsa

I've never been a favorite of chartered vacations, but with two kids at the age of five, I resolved to try an all inclusive two week vacation. My requirements were WIFI availability in the room and a separate bedroom for the kids. Playa Feliz provided this and more. Our apartment was very elegant, offering one bedroom on the 2nd floor and two bathrooms. The TV channels available was not that interesting for the kids, but as we brought a HDMI cable we were able to stream TV and Netflix from the internet to the TV (it should be mentioned that the TV was only a 19"). The food from two restaurants were surprisingly good. The availability of snacks from the bar throughout the day was very popular with the kids. We could choose from more than five pools or simply go to a sandy beach close by. Lots of other restaurants and shopping nearby and frequent buses to San Augustin, Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas never made a day boring.

Room Tip: We stayed clear of the pool area due to noise during the day. After hours the place was quiet nevert...
