We stayed in Hydra Icons for 6 days in the beginning of February, and these were one of the best days in our life!
First of all, Yiannis willingly provided us with all the documents needed to get the visa. It was perfect. When we arrived, he gave to us all the tips: where to eat, how to do the sightseeing and so on – not to mention a free transfer from the port (which was of an enormous help to us) and oranges from his own garden! Yiannis assisted us during our stay, willing to help us at any time of the day and night – a very amiable and helpful person.
As for the guesthouse itself, it’s perfectly located near the port, but far enough from its hustle and bustle, offering a really beautiful view from our room and from the panorama terrace.
Our room was very neat, furnished with taste, perfectly clean, with a super comfortable big bed. There was everything we needed including an electric kettle and the dishes. Every morning we used to buy some kind of greek Graviera cheese in a nearby supermarket and a freshly baked, just from the oven, bougatsa in a zakharoplastio (bakery) and had delicious breakfast. We explored the island as much as it’s possible for a 6 days’ stay (Profitis Ilias monastery, mount Eros, Agia Triada and Agia Matrona monasteries, Zouvra monastery) and didn’t even want to return to Athens.
If you want to visit Hydra, winter is ideal time for the trip, believe me. And Hydra Icons is an ideal place to stay!
Dear Yiannis, thank you so much!!!
