We had the pleasure of eating at this lovely Greek restaurant last night. It has the most beautiful veranda with a huge bougainvillea tree fanning out stunning pink blossoms across the pergola above. They have a thriving vegetable garden to the back of the restaurant where you can clearly see the ingredients to many future meals!

We had spicy cheese salad and the most delicious fried vegetable balls which were made with light batter and perfectly seasoned. I’ve had these elsewhere in Santorini but never as good as these.

We had a break between courses and enjoyed the house wine which was delightful. The sunset over the caldera is clearly visible from the terrace at this time of year so we watched as the colours changed over the many small fishing boats bobbing in the bay.

We opted for spare ribs and beef in red sauce as a main course which were both well cooked and tasty. The fish here is caught by the restaurant’s own boat so is very fresh, however we didn’t fancy fish as we’d had rather a lot over the last week in Greece!

All in all a lovely night spent in a great restaurant with lovely staff, we will be eating there again tonight!

I enjoyed this spot as much for the setting as I did for the food. Part of its charm was the lack of other tourists, so I was torn about submitting a review, which will just make it more likely that the charm will be diminished if I ever return. But it is just too nice to hide. First, this is located on Caldera Beach which is not easy to find, is not well marked and which requires a descent of a largely dirt road switchback from the rim to the small beach below. The restaurant clings to the edge of the caldera and is just above a beach off of which local fishing boats are moored. I went there twice during my recent visit to Santorini and it was never crowded nor were there many people on the beach. Second, the setting is lovely. The tables are on an outdoor terrace covered by an arbor on which grape vines and bougainvillea are growing. It was shaded and pleasant and had a fabulous view of the caldera (as well as a wonderful sunset experience) . Third, the food is very good. They prepared fresh fish (snapper that looked like it had just been delivered from the boat that caught it) that was wonderful, and I also recommend the fava type purée, which is actually made with the local bean variant as opposed to the fava you get elsewhere in Greece. If you are tired of the press of people and general tourist experience on Santorini, head out to this restaurant, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Location, food, service and staff were the best. Loved it here. The grilled octopus was to die for and the best that we've had in a weeks holiday here in paradise. The walk to here and the beach is worth every step.
