“Definitely not a Palace!!”
Reviewed 27 August 2012

booked a family suite for 3 nights.

Pros:
- Nice location, view of Milopotas beach
- friendly staff
- Cool pool/bar

Cons:
- we had 2 aircons but one remote control working
- ridiculous minibar: just sitting there against the wall. Just had 2 soft drinks, no water!
- rooms are outdated despite an effort to make them look modern.
- TV reception was bad and very few channels
- It took me a while to figure out how to close the door when leaving the room! You need to close the button from the door knob from the inside....Totally annoying!
- Windows not closing properly

Not worth 4 stars, sorry

If you're coming to IOS, you don't need to think 2 minutes. IOS Palace is the best hotel in the city!! Close to the beach, VERY WELCOME STAFF, amazing drinks, great food, close to the parties. Breakfast is not cold, is perfect. Amazing view, the rooms are perfect, with AC, TV, very clean, comfortable beds. I'd only recommend a harder shower, cause for us, brazilians, showers in Europe are a little weak.
If you going to IOS for business, with your girlfriend/boyfriend, family, friends or alone, you're gonna love it. Take a sit at the pool's bar, chat with the staff, get some drinks. You're gonna enjoy your time over there.
There is only one sad moment, when you're leaving!
Thank you, IOS' Palace staff. We had a great moment in your hotel!
Brazilians from the end of july!

This place is horrible. Only stay here if you are 16 years old and have never stayed at a hotel in your life, and you are used to living in a shoe box at home.
It is not 4 stars, it is more suited to zero stars.
There are:
Ants in the room,
Black flies and mosquitoes,
The front desk even offers a fly swatter in your room for use! How nice!
The air conditioning sucks, doesn't work.
The free breakfast is cold.
The bathroom has a drain in it, and it smells like a sewer plant all the time. This is very unpleasant when you enter your room.
The staff is very unhelpful if you try to cancel your stay. They tell you to pay full price, the they say 50 percent, I'm fairly certain they just make numbers up.
Do not stay here if you come to Ios, the pictures on the website are only of the 1 king suite only, (there are 80 other rooms) and you don't want to see what they look like. Don't come here.

Great location. Incredible view.
Very welcoming and helpful front desk.
Rooms with a great view.
Steps from the beach.
Breakfast included, not bad, although very uninspired and drab.
Many little cafés and restos nearby.
Besides the breakfast, good value.

The hotel had a fabulous breakfast, that was a really big plus. The staff was very helpful to inform us about the island and to help us rent an atv bike. The room had a fantastic view of the ocean and very nice interior.
The only bad thing we experienced at this hotel was that we the first morning woke up with ants crawling all over. We informed the hotel who took care of it while we were out doing the evening or so we thought. When we got back there were still some ants, most of them was dead, but there were still some. Since we paid the price to stay at a 4 star hotel we thought the ant problem was unacceptable. So we called the desk and they send a woman up who didnt speak english who came up and yelled something in a foreign language clearly not happy and slammed the door and left. We called the reception again to ask if they could send someone who we could communicate with, but they send the same woman, and this time she changed the sheets. We didnt complain more about it, since we were only staying two more nights.

The restaurant tomatini, was very good, not too expensive but extremely good food, and very polite staff and great service. Definitely worth trying

Really nice hotel, with great service and nice, clean rooms. Amazing view from the balcony and the pool at the roof. Nice bar, good food and very kind people working there. Worth every euro we spent there! The spa at the hotel was the best I ever had!

We stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel hugs one end of the beach, so a very short walk to the beach. The rooms were quite large and modern but a little run down. A nice balcony overlooking Mylopotas beach. We stayed in a superior room located in the top back corner of the hotel. There was a set of stairs that run along the outside of the hotel and hook up to the back - this was good exercise every day. No safe in room, or coffee making facilities. Breakfast was included for our stay, a good variety of food and drinks. The filter coffee was cold every morning we went, but you could order separate coffee from the staff.

We weren't impressed with the service at the pool bar. The bartender was extremely slow in producing our order and it was incorrect. The second visit, again was very slow in getting our first round of drinks and he completely forgot the second order. Cocktails were expensive compared to other bars in Ios. We didn't return after that. The bar was very quiet when we went both times. The pool is nice and deep - extremely salty though.

The Wi-fi was very poor. We could not access it from our room at any time during our stay, even on the balcony as instructed. It worked intermittenly at the pool bar but was unreliable.

Overall, a good stay but there was room for improvement.
