“Great, Clean, Great Location”
Reviewed 14 November 2009

I never got around to reviewing Far Out Hotel and Spa... but here's my 2 cents. I travelled there with Contiki. I found the hotel to be very clean. Great views from my balcony and the beautiful pool and bar. The Hotel sits up on the hill on a road of a main bus route between the main Ios town and Mylopotas beach. Both are also within walking distance for the beach during the day and the bars at night. The laundry service offered is good. Used the Ios Village Hotel down by the beach for lunch, drinks and a swim in the pool. Breakfast was good, with typical european selections. I would definitely consider this hotel if i go back to the Greek Islands.

The resort is perfect for backpackers on a budget.
They advertise it correctly- you really do have everything you need down there. It is easy to spend days without realising you havent left the campsite.. The food in the restaurant is lovely and affordable and the staff there are lovely as are the bar staff.
The is little room between the tents and the showers were often unclean, crowded and broken. Also it is loud during the day if you like sleeping, but we were well warned about this before we stayed there and enjoyed the lively atmosphere!!
All in all a good week spent in far out!

The hotel wasn't that bad. We were there for 2 nights, but they definitely could have done a much better job of cleaning the rooms. There were bugs everywhere and I know it's common, especially if you have doors to an outside porch, but if housekeeping took the extra few minutes to clean the bugs in the bathroom, it would have made a huge difference. The pool is nice and they staff was very friendly. It's a hike down to the beach or into town though. You have to call a taxi or wait for the bus. It's a fairly inexpensive place, so I guess you get what you pay for. Overall it was ok.

The location is perfect, right on the beach! And th town is just a quick and cheap bus ride away, or a 20 min. walk. The atmosphere is great for traveling backpackers and the bar has very affordable drinks. Highly recommend!!

A very unpleasant stay. Firstly, my fiance and I (who are both in our early 20s) had booked a double bed, we were given 2 single beds. As tolerant as we were, we accepted and didn't bother complaining. Secondly, at breakfast in the dining area we were attacked by wasps. Not just one or two but at least a WHOLE colony (we ended up escaping back to our room for breakfast)! It couldn't get any worse considering we had no sleep since there was a tour of immature, disrespectful 20-somethings who kept us awake across 3 nights with their swearing and drunken behaviour (hooligans running around and knocking on doors at 4am), but it did get worse, one morning we decided to have a sleep in. While we lay in bed, the lady who makes up the room came through and tidied up whilst we were still in bed. You better believe it when our time here was up and we were dying to get out!!!

The stay was marvelous.
The staff is very nice and 24 hours present at the reception. At any time you come at the hotel you have nice and pleasant hello no matter how drunk or sober you are. The pool is very nice and the bar near that makes the best coctails i ever drink. The view on the Manganari beach is hard to describe with words...

It is paradise on the earth!!
