Far-Out Village Hotel

We stayed in the Beach Club hotel rooms, which we loved as they were modern, clean and spacious and included a balcony and not right in the centre of the partying but only a 2 minute walk down to the Beach Club party area. While it's a bit of a trek up the hill to get back up it was worth it for the rooms. Far Out is so much fun and definitely an amazing party hotel. Great pools, beaches and bars. The sex on the beach and ios special cocktail jugs were the best. Pool parties were so much fun!

Stayed in end of July and loved the rooms. At the end of my Greek holiday, decided to upgrade ourselves to the hotel rooms rather than the budget camping and was very happy I did so. You're still in the midst of all the partying, but you're also able to escape the mayhem.

Rooms were great and fairly big, bathrooms were basic but well worth it. All of the rooms have little terraces with a table and chairs so great for pre-drinks before you head into town.

Only downside is the walk back to Far Out from the town itself, you're pretty much sober by the time you get there if the follow the road but there is a path down the hill which is a laugh at whatever time in the morning before the sun is up - be prepared for bruises.

Room Tip: For a quieter room, ask for one at the back on the opposite side of the camping area.

Had booked a 3 night stay at this hotel at the end of July after a quick search online and having read some good reviews.

Unfortunately, we did not realize that this is more of a youth hostel or a university campus than a hotel. This place is strictly for young people 18-25 max who come to Ios to party. The whole day there is really loud music mostly from a beach club that belongs to the hotel and is very close to the rooms and you have no chance of relaxing whether in your room, beach in front of the hotel or even close by tavernas!

Hotel rooms are large but basic and look like they haven't been renovated for ages. Breakfast is poor and most hotel areas do not seem very clean!

We booked this hotel through a very well known website and paid 120 euros per night which is far more than anyone should pay for this hotel. We left after the first night and found a much nicer hotel close to the chora.

The only good thing to say about this hotel is that the ladies at the reception were very polite.

We did a lot of research before booking our accommodation in Ios, the rest of our tour group stayed next door at the camping/bungalow section (around half to a quarter of the price of our room and it had all just been renovated for the season).

Our room was old and not the same as the pictures shown on the booking website.

We had booked a double room (with double bed) and when we checked in found two single beds, I told reception who said 'well even if that's what you booked I don't have that room available'. We were paying 45 euro a night (the most you can in far out) and our room was the worst. Doesn't match up?!

We were offered a different room in village area after second night but they weren't going to make it easy to move, and we thought it might not be any better anyway (only next door is renovated, we had cobwebs on our roof)

Air con was very loud so we slept with ear plugs every night.

The only power point was in the bathroom (great for charging valuables, having to sit your ipad in the basin).

Bathroom super tiny, with ants all over the ground. You have to unplug your charger to close the door.

Room was cleaned daily, but never was the ground cleaned and we had to make our own beds, they just provided very old cardboard like sheets.

The restaurant and pool is great, really decent food with affordable prices. Marco the waiter is fab.

But every time we interacted with reception staff they never smiled nor wanted to go out of their way to help.

Again, just frustrating when we offered to pay the 45 euro and move to a 25 euro renovated room next door and they say no & you don't get what you booked with no apology.

I would stay next door, or at ios palace for a splurge. Cool place but this made our experience not as enjoyable.

Room Tip: Make sure you know what you are booking, email for photos of exact room.

Seriously good value. The village itself has everything you need - mini mart, pools, gym, bar, restaurant (with really good food), beach.
Public bus service that takes you into town for 1.60 euro.
We were here first week of June so can't speak for what this place would be like in peak season but it was great for us. Met heaps of nice people too. Free beach lounges.

The room was basic but absolutely the best value you will find.

NB. If you stay here during peak it will be hectic

I stayed here while backpacking the world, a villa room was cheaper than most bunks in hostels I've been to. right on the beach, very lively, I thoroughly recommend this hotel. There is even cheaper accomodation at the campground next door which would be better during peak season. Very social for single travellers, everyone meets in the bar before taking the last bus to town.

Deadly spot. So much fun. We travelled here May 2011. Wonderful staff, wonderful location (even though it's "far out"), buses that come in every hour and taxis aren't expensive, lovely rooms, lovely pool, great beach. Just fantastic. Great food, great bar. GO! NOW! What are you waiting for?
