we have just returned from a fabulous 7 days at the Hotel Katerina - the location is absolutely perfect ten minute walk to either Chora, the main town aor to the stunning Mylopotus beach. Maria and Pedro were marvellous hosts and were ever ready with local information and assistance organising quad hire, taxis, picking us up and dropping us off at the port, restaurant suggestions. Such a beautiful family and a very comfortable stay, we can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: all the rooms have beautiful views but we asked for a high one and were able to park our quad bike right outside!0

We came to Ios in June 2012 and we're picked up promptly at the port. We passed through town to the other side and were very happy with the view from the hotel as it overlooked the sea and beach down below. (A downhill walk to the beach to join the masses of young sunbathers -...uphill a little tougher) Our room was located up a few flights of outdoor steps and had two single beds and shower in the bathroom. It was comfortable and very clean. The view was spectacular! The staff was very friendly and the family who run the establishment were most gracious. They were also very helpful with renting a car and getting maps etc. If you rent a car, take care of the entry ramp up the hill to the hotel - quite steep! Access to town is a short walk or you can flag down the buses all over town. Breakfast and lunch are fine around the pool and reasonable. The hotel is priced very reasonably for all that you get. The town center was fun to explore in the evening as it is a maze of little streets all tightly woven on a hill. Walk to the very top to the highest chapel (there are 3 of them!) and view the sunset. If you choose to walk to town you will be shown a shortcut pathway from the driver, and it is very pleasant to take down to the port and view the boats in the harbor and sit in a taverna. If you are a coffee lover, bring your own instant coffee as it is fairly expensive anywhere in Greece. You can ask them for the boiling water and cup. There is little store on route to town to pick up food items - no fridge in room. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: The highest rooms with a clear view to the sea

I stayed at this hotel with two girlfriends and it was the best hotel of our europe trip. Run by a family, everyone was very friendly and extremely helpful especially with dock transfers and with our bags. Although the rooms are average (yet airconditioned), the view is amazing as well as the location being in the middle of everything and in walking distance to the town. We would 100% go back to Hotel Katerina.Worth every penny!

Me my husband and my one year old stayed here in june 2012. The family run business is fantastic! The service is amazing and we became really good friends with the staff! Our son took his first steps by the pool in IOS so it was a magical moment for us. He became very close with everyone and he did not want to leave. The hotel rooms were beautiful and the views absolutely stunning! I think this hotel is in the best spot on the island and the pool bar is so relaxing . Yes we are a young family but this hotel would be perfect for anyone. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a clean big complex with views and amazing hospitality!

I will stay here again if i visit IOS.

Regards Demi Nick and Johnny Australia xxx

Room Tip: Pick a room with a view of beach it is worth it!

This place is fantastic!! A family run hotel by the nicest and most accomodating people. They couldn't do enough for you! The location is brilliant, could not be better. Situated bang in the middle between Mylopotas Beach and the main city centre. Easily a 10 minute walk to either. Would def recommend and good value for money although we were there during the off season so it may be more expensive during peak. And the transfers included to and from the Port were very helpful. Views from the pool area were a dream!!
