“Coast to Coast B&B”
Reviewed 13 August 2013 via mobile

I turned up at the B&B soaked after an afternoon walking in the rain, was given a very warm welcome. Fantastic location, close to the bridge and near the pub. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great and had a nice packed lunch to set me on the way for the final days walk. On of the best B&B I stated at on the C2C walk.

You over look Beggars Bridge from your room and the Conservatory while having our Cake and Tea on arrival. Pub for evening meal 2 minute walk. Breakfast was again excellent. You can catch local steam train if you want to stay and break up a walking holiday. Perfect!

Warm and welcoming hosts. Nice rooms and a very good breakfast...replete with home made marmalade and proper local Yorkshire Honey. What more could you want for a last night?

Well...if you get there early enough you can catch the 1835 train to Whitby (home of Captain Cook for antipodean C2Cers) and have fish n chips at the Magpie. Allegedly the best fish n chips in the UK. Bit pricey but a great relive after all those pub meals....and escape the Arncliffe Arms (bad reputation). Train takes about 30 mins and goes through some of the places you will through tomorrow (Egton Bridge, Grosmont) some lovely country. Train costs about £4 each, and if you call and book a fixed price taxi it's only £15 or so back (there are only about 3 trains a day back and last one is about 1930).

Room Tip: One room has a bath and windows on both sides if you have a hot day and need a warm day!

Very good stay and welcome.

Clean and comfortable and hot shower and water.

Excellent for the C2C route and at the end of a long walk a relaxing stay and excellent breakfast to start us on our way.

Thank you

Really enjoyed our stay here - the room was big and comfortable - with a king size bed which is such a rarity in B&Bs. Best night sleep we had all week. Really welcoming, friendly owners too. The pub down the road does really good food too.

This excellent B & B is just next to Glaisdale railway station but as there are only four trains a day in each direction the noise is not likely to both you! The rooms are first rate and there is a comfortable lounge for guests. Excellent breakfasts.
