“Comfortable Cottage with the Personal Touch”
Reviewed 14 September 2017 for a stay in May 2017

= The cottage is part of an isolated terrace on the edge of the valley looking towards the main village of Glaisdale, so there are uninterrupted views both to the front and rear of the cottage. The Arncliffe Arms is a few minutes walk away and provides a range of meals and cask ales. The cottage is small but comfortable and decorated with care and imagination, making the best use of the space. The owner has fresh farm eggs and local cake on the table when you arrive .The cottage is perfect for days walking in the Nationl Park or visting the coast.

“Excellent Cottage”
Reviewed 19 August 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Excellent cottage in an ideal location for exploring the moors and coast. Great for our little family. On our arrival the owner had laid the table with beautiful crockery and age appropriate tableware for both of our children even leaving a little treat for them as well as fresh eggs from their farm and cake for us. She had enquiried whether we had boys or girls and had also provided toys for them. These extras were much appreciated. The cottage was well equipped and the beds were extremly comfortable. There isn't any wifi however this didn't matter as there is a 4g signal in the house. We will definitely look to return either to this cottage or their sister cottage.

“Lovely cottage in beautiful area”

We strongly recommend this small but warm and cosy cottage, one of a row set above the River Esk in North Yorkshire. You get a warm reception from the owner, backed up by very generous provisions put in the kitchen to welcome you.. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove, much appreciated on a wet dark afternoon- given the season, it was very nice to have a decorated Christmas tree there too. The bathroom has recently been done up and the kitchen is very well-equipped. The bedroom is warm and has excellent views; the bed is very comfortable. Contrary to a previous report, we found everything spotlessly clean. If you want a quiet few days in the country, punctuated by trips to the pub 50 yards down the road, we can't think of a better venue.

Management Response
5 Jan 2016
We couldn't be happier that you had such a lovely holiday, and thank you ever so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We can think of little better than a peaceful stay in the countryside, with only leisurely strolls to the pub to interrupt the quiet - we are over the moon you enjoyed the experience. We certainly hope that you come back for another holiday again soon!

“Great accomodation, fantastic welcome”
Reviewed 28 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

The owner puts a lot of effort into making you feel welcome on arrival - free range eggs from her own chickens, and cake to go with your cup of tea!
The cottage is beautifully cosy, with a wood burning stove in the living room giving off plenty of heat and a warming glow. The bathroom is new - with a lovely deep bath - and there is plenty of hot water for a soak after a long walk in the surrounding countryside. The main bedroom has a very comfy four poster bed, and all the rooms have stunning views.
The neighbours are all really friendly, and the local pub is literally 50 yards away. It serves great beer from the Black Sheep brewery and has great food. And it's dog friendly!

“Comfortable cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 2 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This is a great location to experience both coast & country and one of the most dog friendly area's I have ever been to with plenty of good walks direct from the cottage .The owners and locals are friendly and the cottage has lots of homely touches including the welcome pack. It is a comfortable cottage rather than a luxury one and we think the agents rating of 3 ticks is about right

“Superb location , lovely cozy cottage ,”
Reviewed 5 March 2013 for a stay in February 2013

Spent 3 nights in this lovely cottage in Glaisdale. We recieved a very warm welcome from the owner and found chocolates and free range eggs waiting for us in the kitchen. The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the north yorkshire moors and coast. Whitby being only twenty minutes drive away.
The cottage is well equiped and warm with superb views across the Esk valley , plenty of walks available from the front door.
Would highly recommend to friends and will return.
