Having just returned from our fifth visit to The Hayloft, we thought it was about time we left a review. Having said that, it's probably safe to assume that we wouldn't have been there five times if we didn't absolutely love the place.
This is the perfect countryside bolt hole for us, being nestled deep within the stunning scenery of North Yorkshire, while being just 15 minutes away from the delightful town of Whitby. The Hayloft itself is superbly equipped with just about everything that one needs for a holiday, with even a nice jacuzzi bath to relax in after a hard day's walking or just eating fish and chips.
The room is always clean and tidy when we arrive, with a bottle of wine and a basket of eggs waiting for us. Although it's designed for self catering with its fully equipped kitchen, we actually book breakfast in the farm each morning and get to meet the many walkers from all around the world who are reaching the last days of their coast to coast walk. Part of the fun of staying here is just being able to chat to people of all nationalities who are making the most of the scenery and history of northern England.
Parking is easy, access to the moors and dales is no problem, and attractions such as the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway are within a few minutes' drive. It's a great place to stay and wander. A glance through the visitors book in the Hayloft just confirms that everybody from the USA to Japan rates it highly.
Already looking forward to visit number six.
